How about a positive Mens BBall post
I thought they played very well last night. Obviously that Berguson kid had something to prove, he was on fire, but other than that we shut them down, and Berguson got them close then we pushed the lead back like we should. I was really happy with the game last night especially with a lethargic crowd and these kids wanting to get to Christmas break.
I find it funny how the negative MBB posts have sometimes over 200 responses but a positive article by Chris Williams has 0 as of now. This board will be a ghost town when we start winning because most of you wont have anything to gripe about. That being said some of you people will find something.

I'm pleased with last night. It was a solid win against a team that doesn't get beaten by much on a normal basis.

I thought Allen looked good last night getting in the lane and all the way to the rim. We are going to need him to do that in B12 play.... getting inside and creating things for our other guys.

Agreed, I thought last nights win was a good one. If that dude wasn't shooting super human last night it would of been a blow out.
Negativity is just the nature of being a Cyclone fan. We're just conditioned to expect failure, so we tend to nit pick little things and blow them out of proportion. Luckily though, JP, CPR, Freddy, and the rest of the athletic department are starting to change that aspect of being a Cyclone fan. Slowly but surely.

The team is slowly getting better, and I think the Scottie to 2, Chris to the 1 is definitely helping. The flashes of what they could be are becoming more frequent, and the ball movement and defense are improving.

Re: How about a positive Mens BBall post
I don't think people are being that negative. It's just hard to get excited about beating team we should beat...
Lost 3 games in nonconference, fans have a right to be more negative than excited right now, mostly beacause of their own high expectations, but still there are a lot of unanswered questions.

I don't think people want to be negative toward the basketball team, but, for me at least, there have been some very disturbing trends throughout our games this year. I've said all along I think our program is going in the right direction but there are going to be more bumps in the road than a lot of people expected or hoped for.
Hopefully this team, and coaching staff, come together as we enter B12 play and we have a very productive conference season.

So what you are saying is that when people claim Fred is in over his head, these kids are lazy and dont care and are overrated then thats not negative? REad the posts after the Central Michigan game (a win) and you see that crap, after a win mind you. I'm sick of it. ISU could go 0-12 in football and 0-32 in BBall and Id still be a fan, maybe a dormant one but one none the less. CPR doesnt believe in negativity, its good to see that we are adopting his mentality as a fan as well, stay positive, positive thinking leads to positive results.

Re: How about a positive Mens BBall post
There are gonna be tons of good talented teams that are 10-3 when conference play starts that will do just fine the rest of the year. If you want my opinion we will peak right about the time of the B12 tournament. This team would beat Drake by 20 right now I truely believe that. They look much better than when we started the year. Thats progress, thats on the players and coaches. Maybe we wont get to the big dance this year, it would be nice but it may not happen. Whats the important thing is that it also very well could, this team gets on a hot stretch, look out.

They look much better than they did a few weeks ago. If they can find a way to maintain defensive intensity for a full 40 minutes they'll surprise some people in conference play. On a good shooting night they can play with anyone in the Big 12.

Re: How about a positive Mens BBall post
The one thing about a Chris Allen is, this kid has been through the wars. If he doesnt know when to push himself for a stretch run (2 final 4s) and not punch himself out too early its this kid. I'm hoping he will pass the mentality onto his teamates and start to lead. Time will tell.

One thing I do know is we are playing in a conference with the type of player that should be playing in the conference. That has been lacking for a long time around here.

Time will tell. They're college kids, they play 35 games a year, these aren't 35 year old NBA vets, they shouldn't need to hold back. If they aren't pushing themselves the whole year they aren't going to have to worry about a stretch run.
