No Nebraska or Colorado = no wins

I expect a really, really close game Wednesday. Don't take too much out of today's game.
You are right but these individual games have been adding up all year. How many games has ISU looked good in? Not many.

Outside looking in, I think that could be Tyrus. I think it'd be great if it was Royce, but I'm not sure that's his personality.

I'm not going to disagree with that, because you're right. I seriously think we will see a different team come Wednesday night. I really do. I don't think these guys sat out a year waiting for their chance to play Lipscomb and Miss Valley State...I think once they play a team with their talent level and above they might just turn it on - especially at home. I'm not saying it's right, but I think that's what the case is gonna be here. At least, I hope.

Re: How many B12 wins do we get?
It's hard to win just 2 or 3 conference games like we did last year. We had what, 5 or 6?, that could have easily gone the other way. Most of the time, the only teams that win that few are the ones that are truly awful (see Utah this year, who lost by 40 at Colorado tonight).
We have two more shots this year, and the conference isn't as good as it was last year. I'd be very surprised if we don't win more conference games than last year.
Right now, I'll say 5 or 6 is where we end up. If the team gets its act together, we could win a lot more than that. I haven't seen much reason to make me believe things will get much better any time soon, though. I'm not sure I've ever seen a team as frustrating to watch as this one.

Not having a pg to get us into an offense, and defense, has been a problem all year, and won't change until we recruit for it.
The simple fact is that for all of the complaining, most of it is because people put the cart waaaayyyyy ahead of the horse this year. It's a pretty common occurrance on these types of sites.
90% of coaching at this level is recruiting. I like what we have done in that area.
While I kind of agree that Freddie needs to hire an experienced coach, there had to be concessions made to keep TJ. TJ is a great recruiter, and he has done well here. But, I am sure that he wants to be a head coach someday, so his role had to change. I think they thought they would get one more year out of Lutz, and then transition TJ into the lead assistant role. The hope was Fred would be ready by then. Lutz leaving after one year, moved that whole program up. It has been evident that this group needs to get better. They also need to continue to bring in the types of players that they have so far.
Fred is too smart of a guy to not get better, but this was a crash course experiment, and to think that there wouldn't be some problems along the way was probably not realistic...Especially when you consider how bad of shape the program was in when he got here...

This is the team that we have. Is it perfect? Absolutely not.
But we do need to continue to support them. Saying stuff like this is not only ill advised, it's is flat out stupid...

Re: How many B12 wins do we get?
I think it is time for Allen and Babb to take a seat or take a hike. Yesterday's guard court couldn't compete in the Horizon league. Our offense (what offense?) consists of one pass and shoot. Bubu is the only guard that can drive the lane and he can't make a layup and only about half of his free throws. Waiting for this "team" to come together is an exercise in futility. They have had 13 chances to do that and failed. The great "transfer in" expiriment is a bust. Two wins tops.

Re: How many B12 wins do we get?
I don't know how many wins we will get but I would put down money we finish last in the conference. I'm just glad we don't play iowa again...they are actually improving.
Fred says the team is playing too tight...but I think they are flat out lazy. This is the most frustrating team I've ever watched at ISU. In fact I don't enjoy it at all. It says something when you sell a record number of season tickets and nobody comes to the game.
I think Fred has made a mistake with his staff. He has hired all recruiters left all the coaching to himself. Every major college coach has a right hand man share that burden. We need someone with more expereince.

Looks like 6 wins. OU has been playing very well and both OU and TT have better coaches - 3 or 4 wins and we miss the conf tourn. - sorry I went to the game yesterday and I'm still ****** off.

I expect a really, really close game Wednesday. Don't take too much out of today's game. If we beat MVSU by 30 it would have shown progress based on a good effort against Lehigh - but instead we show an effort much like what I saw in November.
Also, for everyone that thinks we get hot from 3 to win some games - I don't think our shooters will see enough open shots to string too many together. Conf teams will defend the 3 better than what we have seen in the non-conf. I hope I'm wrong but the lack of effort and ball handling skills makes this team hard to watch.

Re: How many B12 wins do we get?
Too early to tell if they will suck. They have a great coach and plenty of talent. Now if they can acquire some HEART and DRIVE. I wouldn't put anything past them.
We do? Please tell me how CFH has shown himself to be a great coach in the 1 and 1/3rd seasons he has had as head coach so far.
Look, I'm not advocating CFH's dismissal, and I'll give him a chance and support him, but this mentality among the Kool-Aid drinking Cyclone faithful that he will automatically be the next John Wooden just because he's Fred freakin' Hoiberg is silly and stupid and tiresome.
As for the question posed by the OP, I would say between 6-8 wins at most. It's hard for me to see us winning any road games with type of effort we put out yesterday.
