Better job so far: Fran at Iowa or Freddy at ISU?
Iowa just keeps winning big games. The win at Wisconsin and then tonight to a down Minnesota team but at the "Barn" still makes it impressive. Hoiberg still owns a 2-0 record over Fran and probably has better athletes, but still has not had that big win so far. I dont follow basketball that much so was wondering what others though.

slight (SLIGHT) edge to Fran. The cupboard was bare(er) and he has better wins (@Purdue, MSU, @Wisc, @Minn).
For the record, Fred is doing just fine for his experience level. Can't expect a great coach after 1.5 years - unfortunately.

Speaking from a record standpoint, CFH. Otherwise, it's really too close to tell.

Beating Minn is not a big win. Wisconsin is your typical Big 10 paper-tiger.
ISU is may be the most talented team Iowa has played, and Iowa did not belong on the same court as the ISU.

As much as it pains me to say it I say Fran this year is getting so much more out his players than Fred. Iowa is still unbelievably talent deficient and somehow he is getting them to compete.
Last year it was Fred, since he used what little firepower we had with DG/Scotty/JVB and let them run an offense that kept them competitive in almost all of our conference games.

First team into a (real) post-season tournament wins, k? Anything else is just a waste of time.

Fred is adapting well and the team seems to be playing better as a team slowly but surely...its still 2 months from march madness.
ask hawknation or panther website about Fran...not a cyclone, we beat them, no other reason to discuss him

Since the Sagarin ratings were so popular here during the football season, USATODAY.com
Big Ten = #1 conference.

Since '01 Wisconsin has made it to the NCAA tournament every year. They've made it to an elite 8, three sweet sixteens, and five second round exits. If that's your definition of a 'paper-tiger' then I would absolutely love for either Iowa or ISU to become a 'paper-tiger.'
It's ridiculous how some people's absolute hate for the Big 10 can cloud their judgement so much that it makes them look like a complete dumb***.

Big Ten = #1 conference. Aren't they always this time of year?
At the end of the year, the Big 10 usually ends up an inferior conference, regardless of sport. Well, maybe wrestling.
