Maybe. I'm not convinced that we are that talented yet.

Missouri is tough because they like to run and we don't have a point guard. We'll see on Wednesday night.

As far as today goes, I don't care how much Texas A&M sucks, winning by 24 on the road in the Big 12 is rare.

I'm thrilled to be 2-0 and to put some pretty long streaks to rest in these first 2 games.

I don't know what this means for the rest of the season, but I've felt over the last several years if we could actually win a few games, we might gain some confidence.

Missouri is a match up nightmare for us, but we should come in focused and ready to go. The crowd should be good and loud and maybe we can make a statement.
agree about the texas game i was there and i never once felt like iowa state wasn't in complete control of that game even when we came out at haft time and gave up that little run. great way to open big 12 and we have a very good chance to beat mizzou in ames hilton was magical for the texas game with out the students will be fine and this is going to be a very good year. The guys are starting to have fun out there also.... Its great to be a cyclone fan

I think people are keeping it more realistic than normal. While we did have two good wins, neither is huge, but to be a good team you have to win these games. I think most fans are thrilled that we won both but we aren't getting our hopes too high yet which is commonly the problem on this board. I hope that continues into this next week, my guess is if we lose both games this board will be proclaiming this season as a lost cause and if we win both, we will have 1/4 of the final four already figured out.

Re: We beat two quality opponents and no one is happy?

I'm so thrilled and surprised I can hardly stand it. After the MVS near-debacle I feared we'd win only two conference games.

It seems these guys are figuring things out and, frustrating as it may be, seem to have the ability to flip a switch. I thought our offensive spacing was the best it'd been all season so far.

So what if aTm might not be as good as in previous years? We just thumped a conference foe on the road by 20+. It's an accomplishment and a step toward this team turning the proverbial corner.

of course we can.. their strength happens to prey on our weakness. Thats why they say it. We can beat anyone, but we're not going to beat everyone. Understanding that helps control the meltdowns.

It was so sweet to see a game that complete though..been too long. I'm celebrating by cracking open a bottle I've been saving for awhile.

We have the best talent in the big 12... hands down but we aren't the best TEAM were still working on that if we get it together which we have took big leaps in the last 2 games anything can happen. hell we beat oklahoma state in football and in that case we were the best team and not the most talented. That shows talent means nothing its playing as a team for 40 min of a game or in football 4 quarters

I don't think it's a matter of being underwhelmed, I think a lot of us are in a state of confusion.

    (1) Big 12 road win vs. someone other than CU or Nebraska.

    (2) We saw fleeting moments this season of the ability to compete in the Big 12, but rarely a tip-to-buzzer example.

    (3) I'm giddy about starting 2-0, and the team looked Like a Team today. I don't want to get too far ahead of myself; I think a lot of us have that outlook.

Any Big 12 road win IS a quality victory IMO.

We are Iowa state fans. We expect and usually get the worst. If you get too excited, the kick in the nuts hurts more.

I think that there is maybe still a bit of a hangover from the Rutgers football game for the fans... The b-ball team is playing a lot better right now than anyone would have expected a couple of weeks ago. I don't think that anyone denies that. Any win on the road is big, a 24 point win is incredible in my book.

So it seems everyone immediately downgrades any team that we beat.
We're at the point in the season where things start to become more clear.

Have Texas and A&M been better?-of course.
    Do they still have talent-yes.

Debbie Downer's unite. We just beat two Texas teams, which if you are anything intelligent realize that there is no such thing as a bad Texas team this year. ISU>State of Texas thus far.
