Some bulletin board comments from Jon Sundvold
ISU, unlike MU, has to rely occasionally on knuckleheads and misfits for recruits...referring to our transfer recruiting. Called A&M something to the effect of a disaster of a team so far and minimized that win. Hilton doesn't scare anyone and hasn't for years.
Isn't he calling the game?

Re: Some bulletin board comments from Jon Sundvold
If I remember correctly, the Kansas locker room has spots where Sundvold's knee's have worn into the floor.

He is not calling the game. He's also a former Mizzou player.

I'm not a big Sundvold fan and didn't hear the comments but isn't there at least a little bit of truth to everything you wrote?
Hoiberg really needed to upgrade the talent in the program and found the guys where he could. It seems like it's working out. A&M started the year in the top 20 and Big 12 co-favorite and have lost 4 of their last 5. ISU has been terrible the last several years and the home record has too.

I don't agree with the character issues. Missouri has had more than their share of player problems over the years. I really do believe that Fred did a lengthy evaluation on every one of these transfers and determined he was not setting himself up for trouble as Sundvold suggests. That bugged me more than the other stuff. He makes it sound like we're the second coming of Fresno State/UNLV.

Re: Some bulletin board comments from Jon Sundvold
Ha! I'll agree that while we've played some tough games in Hilton and made people sweat, it hasn't been a scary place to be for over 10 years (for the most part....Wayne's 1st and 2nd team--for eight games---was great at home).
However, I get irritated at the misfits label of our players. I have no idea if they will end up being a good basketball team, but they've done everything we could have hoped for in many ways. They are getting it done in the classroom. Hell, Booker is on track to graduate this year. They are almost too unselfish on the court---sometimes they make the extra pass when they don't need to. They've stayed out of trouble or at least been smart enough not to get caught. I look at this team and see a lot of players who I am proud to call Cyclones. Some of them (Royce and Allen) are making the most out of a second chance. Some of them (Babb and Booker) were never in trouble and have been labeled that unfairly.

Alright, that's a good point. It would be nice if some of the announcers could mention something other than the "they have a lot of transfers" story line again and again and again.

Isn't he calling the game? Yet we haven't had a player get in a fight outside a nightclub and get shot, or had a player get kicked off the team for choking his girlfriend not too long ago. What a *******. I agree his other comments.

Re: Some bulletin board comments from Jon Sundvold
Clearly Sundvold has a short term memory. Lawrence Grimes and his shotgun anybody? Ricky Clemons and "them crackas be shakin'"? Quin Freaking Snyder? I mean this is within the last 10 years.

His comments create the perception of an elitist bigot. These transfers have been good students and good citizens. He obviously doesn't know them personally, so why is he judging them publicly.
These remarks are very irresponsible for someone that is employed by the conference.
