Some interesting names there. Anyone else a certain former coach's Southern Mississippi team listed as #7 seed I think? Anyone else notice a very recent former assistant's new team also listed as a #13 seed and a possible opponent in the play-off game? Obviously I'm a bit more optimistic than that after the A&M game, but doesn't this feel like the kind of team that would go and do something stupid and crazy like that?

Yeah, I was being completely facetious in writing that, but now that you bring it up it's not totally out of the realm of possibility.

SI currently has the Cyclones as an 11 seed. And not even one of the last four in! http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/201...?sct=cb_t11_a2 -

Wow, that's bracket we could do some damage in.

OK, just because someone has to: Crieghton in the Sweet 16?
Fire away, everyone. It's right there on paper.

Fire away, everyone. It's right there on paper. Certainly possible.
But: There's always that 12-5 upset. GM hasn't won a game in the NCAAs yet — but this could be the year.

If I'm not mistaken, this is the earliest in the conference season ISU has shown up on these bracket forecasts since '01 — and the latest in the season since '04-'05.
We may not be so giddy a week from today, but keep winning games, and this'll take care of itself. It's refreshing along the way to be in the discussion At All.

The play-in games are so stupid. Just make all the play-ins 16 seeds!

Wrecked the symmetry, then wrecked it even further. (And pointlessly so, I might add).
And yeah, ISU could find itself benefitting from the 68-expansion this year. Doesn't mean I support the bloat on principle.

Re: Sporting News Bracket Projection
I have a feeling they just did this so they can say 'see the play-ins work.' Then they expand it so all higher seeds are play-ins. Can't remember what number that would be. 98 I think...

I don't care how lame your conference is. The play in games should absolutely be the last of the at-large teams.

May my postings be polite and not misunderstood. (And hopefully funny on occasion.) -
Re: Sporting News Bracket Projection
Has there ever been a high major seeded that low?
That seems like a seed you would see if some team with a losing record got hot and won their conference tourney.
