Re: Students going to games.
I have not been going to ISU games for as long as some on this board, but I was there long before Cyclone Alley started (LE & I both showed up at the same time), and so, I feel I have earned the right to ask the dissenters: do you even remember the pre-CA days? The chants of, "Old people, stand up!" and the complete lack of standing/shouting/anything during opponent free-throws? As I recall, it was embarrassing, both in person and on TV.
As for the lack of attendance during non-conference games, when I look at the empty seats in the Parquet, I see little to convince me that eliminating Cyclone Alley would change anything. Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems like a vast improvement to me, and I don't get all the hate.
Re: Students going to games.
The #1 problem with Iowa State basketball games - is they are on prime drinking nights. Damn security is always all over my jock for sneaking in a measly little liter of Beefeater into the student section.
Fact: No student wants to lose their buzz sitting sober through a basketball game.
Jamie Pollard needs to convince security to turn a blind eye to students sneaking in small volumes of liquor, and the student seats will fill up with the rowdiest crowd in all of God's most blessed country on earth.

Anything on the calendar that ends in "day" is a prime drinking night for me.

A rivalry is born.
My prediction:
