It does seem odd that of all events to universally start with anthem, its a spectacle of a sporting event.

And this isn't to say that we shouldn't do it at sporting events, just more of a surprise that you don't see it at things like government meetings and what not (at least not universally).

I thought this was another dumb "students better show up or else im going to kill them" thread. It would be cool if all the students sang it, but I don't really care. Taking off my hat and placing my hand on my heart is good enough. Not that big of a singer and pretty sure people around me would agree if I tried.

I would also point out to the OP that there is no citizenship requirement to attend ISU MBB games.
