    Re: Fred's sideline demeanor

I really like the way Fred has grown this year. Last year with Bobby Lutz helped us a lot, but without Lutz you can really see how Fred has grown this season from game 1 to game 16.

Giving Kansas 5 extra points sounds very beneficial.

Technicals hurt the team. Wanting a technical is not wanting a good thing.

Wait, you get 5 points now for a technical? That changes everything.

Its nice seeing that emotion. Sometimes I wish he would throw a chair at the refs. With the strides hes taking we can expect this early next year

And this is certainly a possibility in time for the B12 tournament. Seriously, can you picture Fred doing this? That thought makes me laugh.

But I don't want him to become like Fran over in IC. What an embarrassment he is IMO.
Ok, so I get that what Fran did at MSU was a bit extreme, but at least the guy shows his expectations. CFH does say the right things, but I miss the years of coaches who just got ****** off and let the team and crowd know it. I miss Larry calling time outs, then telling everyone on the bench to sit down and just leaving the team out there. Just to indicate that "the only reason you can be doing so poorly is because you're tired." sure some teams respond differently, but I do enjoy coaches the put it all out there. Just my opinion.

Working them and getting T'd up when you can't afford to be giving points away are two different things. Getting T'd up isn't motivating anyone.

Common sense says there is a time to get one and a time not to get one. I've been in Allen Firehouse at least 25 times and have seen the officials over and over get caught up in the crowd hysteria and slant their calls in KU's favor.

If it's a close game, you obviously don't do it. If KU goes on one of their 18-4 runs and they're getting the calls AND you're down 15 in that madhouse, you'd better do something.

    Re: Fred's sideline demeanor

A Coach needs to be a good teacher and a smart game planner and manager. Not having control over your temper does not imply a Coach can do any of those things. Coaches tend to have big egos. Big egos tend to have anger issues.

I like Fred's demeanor. It differentiates him and is very professional. I like BF too, and he is a yeller. Not the reason he is successful. What works for each Coach is different. i am just happy he is our Coach and we are trending towards relevance again.
"For the great enemy of truth is very often not the lie -- deliberate, contrived, and dishonest -- but the myth -- persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic. Too often we hold fast to the clichés of our forebears. We subject all facts to a prefabricated set of interpretations. We enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought."

    John F Kennedy
