Anyone catch Dickey V?

I was listening to 1460 this afternoon right before 5 and they said that Dickey V was signing the "I-State goodness Baby"
They were talking with Chris Williams at the time, and I'm in the dark. Anyone know what he said or have a link. I don't really like him, but he has influnced the selection commitee several times IMO.

He said a lot of nice things about us last night during the KU Baylor game too. Maybe him and Johnny settled their differences?

Johnny and DV are good friends, it's a misconception that they have a grudge against each other.

What grown man has to finish his sentences with the word baby, unless they are actually talking about a baby?

I'm glad ISU is getting some good pub and it's nice to hear that Vitale is capable of speaking about a team west of the ACC, but God help me, I cannot physically stand to listen to the man. I was kind of pumped to watch the KU-Baylor game Monday night, but as soon as the Big East crew threw it to the B12 game, and said, "let's join Dan Schulman in Lawrence" I knew I wouldn't be watching for long. Sure enough, after about a minute, Robinson takes that lob and throws it down and Vitale goes nuts, screaming his "up up and away, dipsy do...blah blah blah." I switched and never went back. What a *******.

Feel the same way. Back in the day it was great when he came to Lawrence but now I have him way down the list and wish he would do a KU game again.

The problem is, much like Madden, he has become a charicature of himself. He used to come on and talk basketball. Now it's as much about saying baby and getting of his signature phrases as it is about talking basketball. Kind of like going to see a comedian and finding out he's doing the same material he was when you saw him 20 years ago.

Bob Knight had a nice comment about Iowas State as well. Don't recall which game he was doing or exactly what it was.

Nice to see some ISU praise, regardless of where it comes from. I think its pretty obvious that Freddie well-liked, seems like the media kind of wants him to do well, especially former coaches and players.

A compliment from Bob Knight does more for me than one from Vitale. Bob Knight knows what he's talking about & actually had a successful coaching career, unlike Vitale.

Since we are giving likes/dislikes for broadcasters, I have to be honest, I love listening to Bob Knight do a game. He has great knowledge, speaks well and throws in some great dry humor and wit.
