Does the team just stay in Texas after Saturday
or would they travel back to Iowa and leave Monday to Texas?
That would be a lot of traveling in 4 days...

They'll travel back so they don't miss too much school.

Re: Does the team just stay in Texas after Saturday
Am I to understand that our basketball players have intense schoolwork to do the third week of the semester? I'm pretty certain the 12 credits worth of schoolwork that need to be done in 2 days can be completed on the trip to and from Texas.
FYI I had English 250 with Brackins back when he was a freshman. He maybe was there half of the time and rarely showed up for any group work outside of class. I don't think he even came close to failing the class.

Just kidding. I am thinking that they take some work with them. Also do teams that are gone for a length of time take a tutor or somebody to help with classwork?

I wonder if they are staying down there and if it was scheduled like that on purpose, because we also play at both Oklahoma schools within 3 days too.

With online classes now, it makes it much easier to not miss class, and I am guessing athletes at least mix a few online classes into their schedule.

Re: Does the team just stay in Texas after Saturday
Saw Austin McBeth at Hawthorn and he said the team doesn't actually know yet. He thinks they will come back because if they left Monday they would go to class and leave Monday night so they would only miss Tuesday. He also doesn't know if they would be able to get into the practice facility to get some shots up. So they don't know but they're probably coming back.

Showed up everyday not that sitting through that took much, was in a group with him, showed more effort there than he did on the floor, but that really only required writing his name.

Re: Does the team just stay in Texas after Saturday
I took a class with Evans, Fizer, and Tinsley. They showed up every class, but they didn't really participate or anything. Tinsley jokingly asked me if I could show him my homework and test answers.
Good times!

Re: Does the team just stay in Texas after Saturday
The game on Saturday is at 4. That means it will probably be over around 6 and they will leave the arena around 7 getting to the airport around 7:30-45 and leaving around 8. That would put them back in Ames around 10:30. This means they get around 40 hours at home to relax, study, shoot, and practice/walkthrough.
I wouldn't be surprised either way but I would bet on them coming back.

Re: Does the team just stay in Texas after Saturday
I think it'd be a big waste of money to fly down to Texas tomorrow, fly back saturday night and fly again on monday night, that'd really suck

Re: Does the team just stay in Texas after Saturday
i thought the rule was that a team had to have left for home within 24 hours of when the competition was completed unless you have another game like march madness, barring any complications such as isu having to stay in stillwater for an extra couple days last year due to an ice storm

I know the women's basketball team played at Mizzou the last Saturday of the season last year and instead of coming home they just drove to KC even though they didn't play until Wednesday or Thursday.
