Historic Win today
The last time that ISU had two conference road wins of 20 or more points was 1944. That is 68 years and also the year of our only final four.

Re: Historic Win today
If we can go 2-1 in our next three, we'll be sitting good for the tourney. If we get in the dance, this team is the type that could go a long ways.
***Note to Hawkeye fans, I'm not predicting a Final 4 ***
But, we are not a squad that most teams will want to face in the 2nd round and beyond. Of course, that would depend on how we're shooting from 3-pt land.
This Cyclone team has enough talent, and is deep enough to defeat anyone on any given night.

Re: Historic Win today
In addition, the margin of 24 matches our highest margin for conference road win (this year 2x now and once in 06), to get a margin higher than today on the road you have to go back to 1986.

Re: Historic Win today
1944 is the only other season that ISU has won two conference road games by 20 or more. The two wins were by 32 @Nebraska and by 22 @Kansas. This is the first time in ISU history (over 100 years), that we won two conference road games by at least 24.

Re: Historic Win today
Imagine what the score would have been if we had Lutz on the bench! Because Freddie can't coach, at least according to many on here a month ago. -

Re: Historic Win today
Freddies coaching has been much more visible to me lately. I think he has been calling good plays mostly, who knows how much Lutz had to do with last year anyways. I'm sure they went over stuff in meetings, anyone think it was just Lutz' job to bark out the orders during the game?

I think a lot. Lutz was very visible during timeouts and drawing up plays.

Why even respond if you aren't going to read what I wrote? I know there's obviously no arguing with you bud, but that wasn't my point. They were in a dogfight at half, and needed to coach and play well in the second half to win.

Re: Historic Win today
The fact is that we have had very good teams at ISU. And there have been very bad teams in the B12. And yet this was a historic win as mentioned above. Coaching had something to do with it.
