I didn't watch b/c i dont get longhorn network (like most of us) but were the refs really that bad. Or is it just the common sports fan blaming they're teams loss on a vulnerable official?

The refs weren't too bad. Just someone would make a comment about an official, and then the "official defense force" came in trying to justify everything which was annoying.

Walters seemed to be calling out no reaching calls on Texas in the second half. Otherwise, that was it, I listened so can't confirm. Everytime we lose the same people blame refs though.

I'd take the refs complaints with a grain of salt.

Unfortunately Fred is going to think about taking White out of the game in certain situations. i.e. late in tight games when the other team is going to foul him (White) at every opportunity.

To me, more than not getting those 6 points that he left on the stripe, when Royce airballs or struggles like that from the line, the crowd gets on his back (typical, this is D1 bball) and he thinks he needs to "prove them wrong" or something like that..forces it down the lane..lose all our momentum.
Love him as a player though, and I'm not blaming him for this loss, or any individual player for that matter. It was just one of those nights. This team will not struggle like that shooting the rest of the year. Mark it down.

Refs weren't horrid. Just some flopping calls on us and when Royce flopped once from an elbow, nothing.

All I am saying is that saying KU is a "must win" seem to suggest that we can't make the tourney if we don't win. For all we know we could lose Saturday and win out. A loss certainly isn't helpful to our tournament chances, but it won't ruin them.

Yes, I agree, it's not a make or break tournament thing, but IMO winning will do a lot more for us than beating say Kansas State at home. It will make our resume a lot better which is a big thing against us right now that we don't have any legitimate "quality wins."

IMO beating a Kansas/Missouri/Baylor would allow us to win less conference games to get into the big dance.

Royce only made 1 free throw out of 7. That is why we loss imo. He makes free throws, they don't hack him and he scores easier and/or opens up perimeter shots.

Texas missed more free throws than ISU. If we're going to play the what-if game, we've got to play it both ways. Hard to blame the guy who scored 15 and had 15 boards for the loss.

I think you have a point with this. Royce seems like a sensitive kid.

He is easily my favorite player on the team, I feel bad for him at this point because it has become a serious issue given how much he has the ball and how much we need him down low and on dribble penetration.
