He's hurting the team, except of course the other 95% of the time when he is playing winning basketball. He has a weakness at FT's. That's it.

I'm not saying he doesn't do a lot of things very well. He's our best and most valuable player. But the FT shooting is a huge problem. We run the offense through him for the most part and there is no consequence to fouling him. That is a fatal flaw if the goal is to win games and not have cool stat lines.

Royce White: All About Cool Stat Lines.

I'm sure he's working hard. With the effort he gives us each night, I am happy he's here and I just root for him to make more free throws each game.

As bad as it is, it's probably at least half mental, especially when missing everything. May want to try something new like shoot it like a jump shot or something. My point is that it does hurt, but without Royce, the games might not be close enough for it to matter.

Re: Royce ALMOST had a triple-double tonight

REALLY, another post about his free throw shooting? We all know it sucks, but without him he get blow away. He leads our team in scoring, rebounding, and assists per game. If you watch he is making slight adjustments every game on his FT attempts, half of it is Mental at this point. He is working on it before and after practice quit dogging on it, the same thing that makes him a great player is also what makes him a bad FT shooter. It will get better with time, but will probably be lousy for the rest of the year. I think he improves 15% next year.

Can you get a triple double if you miss ten free throws?

    Seriously, he is very nervous.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.

You knwo what? I wish we wouldn't make fun of Royce. I've seen enough of him that I know he wants to win and he doesn't want to look stupid out there. He's obviously in his own head with the FT's so we probably don't need to push the karma any more than we have to.

Everyone should go read Royce's last tweet.

I feel terrible for him. But we weren't in the game without him. We will just have to accept he is a poor free throw shooter. That's a small price to pay for having him play for us.

I'm guessing it is mostly mental at this point. Probably nothing he can do about it this year.

Re: Royce ALMOST had a triple-double tonight

    Two big points here:

1.) Royce has and will have his detractors, but he's obviously a proud Cyclone and by all accounts has gotten his life turned around and headed in the right direction. I'm really rooting for this guy, and it sucks to see bad things happen to someone who's obviously working hard. Couldn't agree more that without him we're not only not in that game, but we're not in any of the games we've won/lost this year. He's been dominant.

2.) His FT and 3pt shooting is horrendous, but who better to teach Royce how to shoot than Fred? CFH is obviously an excellent FT and 3pt shooter plus he knows what NBA coaches are going to look for/want in terms of Royce's game in those aspects.

Royce may stick around another year because of what Fred can offer to his game, and that would be awesome for Royce and the Cyclones.

What he does good he does really good. What he does bad is ******* awful. He is still by far the best player on our team, but there is no ******* excuse for this ****.

Re: Royce ALMOST had a triple-double tonight

I think he needs support from the fans, because I can't think of a more anxious moment for someone who suffers from anxiety as doing something you are not good at, while the whole world stops to watch you. In the flow of the game its easy to just play, but I'm sure free throws is whole different dimension for him mentally.

How about we go crazy nuts when he gets fouled and gets to the line. If he misses, we cheer like he made it anyway?
