Kansas @ ISU predictions

I really, REALLY hope I am wrong but I don't feel good about this game. I got the same feeling before the Texas (football) game, the Mizzou game (in MBB) and even the @Texas game (again, MBB) this year.

It feels like we have this gold opportunity to take a BIG step. Win against a top 10 opponent on national TV, get Fred's first "signature" win, give a big shot in the arm to our Tourney resume, etc. Unfortunately, I just don't feel like we're going to take advantage. I think we give them a game, but lose at the end, with the final score being inflated due to end-game-fouls.

Kansas 72 to ISU 66

Just way too much good that would come out of an ISU win for me to predict one. These "golden opportunties" end badly sooooo many times for Cyclones fans!

I think that teams will fare well against ISU the second time around, after seeing first hand how we use Royce so creatively.

If we hit 11+ threes we will win. Its going to take making a LOT of threes to win tomorrow.

My predictions....

1. I get at least three of these right.
2. I arrive at the game an hour early.
3. Royce takes an ill-advised three point shot, and misses terribly.
4. Kansas fouls Royce as often as possible.
5. Royce has 10 assists.
6. Royce misses some free throws but doesn't air-ball any.
7. SC make 3 threes, but also gets denied driving to the hoop several times.
8. Kansas out-rebounds ISU.
9. ISU hits 10+ threes, mostly in the first half.
10. Kansas out-scores ISU in the paint.
11. ISU has the lead at half time.
12. The cheerleaders do that dance where they gyrate their hips in a slow, circular motion, and I stare in a creepy stalker way.
13. Kansas start the second half with a 10 point run.
14. We all boo the refs with some chanting of BS.
15. White picks up at least two offense fouls when the KU defender flops in obvious fashion.
16. McGee continues to be the best 6th man on the floor.
17. Half the fans leave their seats with about 3 minutes left and watch from the walkway.
18. A Kansas player fouls out and waits to sit until our player is in the process of shooting a free throw, and 1/4 of the morons in the building yell, "SIT DOWN"....but Scotty makes the free throw anyway.
19. ISU plays poorly most of the second half, makes a run midway through, but pisses down their legs in the final 6 minutes.
20. Unfortunately, Kansas wins by double digits.

Just posting to eat some crow. Never too proud to admit I was wrong, and EXTREMELY HAPPY to be wrong! These guys played a heck of a game and deserved to win. I love that they were able to win a big game that everyone (except me) pointed to and said "We will win that". Great job.

Note: I was extremely close on the score, just backwards. I will fix that next time!
