Just saying those tickets could have been sold to somebody else if they weren't going to the game.

Student allotment was completely sold out. You can't sell tickets twice.

Sounds like those seats were sold as a package and sold to students who don't really care about bball or don't even know they have tickets.

I thought the students were awesome, and I usually rip on them. I thought they did a fantastic job considering they haven't had anything to cheer for in almost their entire lifetime. Nice work. I think the empty balcony seats would be an easy fix. Just offer that section free to students on a first come first serve basis. It would have been full today.

Exactly. And hell, if you turn them over to general tickets next year, the AD will make less. (student tix are $125, the other balcony corner\end seats are$99)

Because all of the unused seats are pushed to one area (since the student section fills front to back), the student section will always look worse. Also, its much harder to sell off student tickets that you're unable to use (since you can't just put them up to the general public), so its less likely those get used (compare that to the lower bowl where if you want to sell tickets you can usually get those snapped up very quickly)

We do have scanning tickets now, so we should have a live count of how many are signed in. For sellouts, close to tipoff maybe they could look at how many are unused, and take a fraction of that number and oversell by that many to anyone looking to get in the door that doesnt have a ticket (giving some room for late arrivals, but letting some more in who couldnt get tickets). Might be too complicated a process.

Yeah, it's pretty hard to sell a student ticket. Can't sell it to public because they need a shirt to get a spot. There's also a fee for printing it I believe.

Students were there in force today, and loud. The old people need to stand more because it gets twice as loud when they are standing and yelling.
