Is Freddy a coach of the year candidate?

He's in 5th place on that list, I think it'll be hard to get it with Murray St. and Mizzou doing so well but could it happen?
As of now I say no. If we have an amazing stretch though I could see him get some publicity.

EDIT: Nice to see Larry on the list, his team will be dancing...would be quite the story line if we played them in the play-in game or later on.

Fred keeps getting better if ISU finishes top 2 in the big 12 and wins the tourney maybe.

If we make the tourney then he's a legit candidate. He's won't be COY, but he'd be legitimately in the running.

If we make some noise the the Big 12 or NCAA Tourney then yes.

He might have a legit shot at conference coach of the year. Lots of work to do though.

Coach of the year isn't usually the team that wins it all because many teams that are in the top 5 in the NCAA year after year would be the only coaches of the year and it doesn't happen. Usually it goes to coaches that have had the best improvement from the previous season thus why Drake's Davis was the coach of the year after his first season though Drake was no ways near the best team in the NCAA.

Larry Eustachys listed as "others worthy of note". Good to see him putting a team together.

I think he's worth a look. This team was gutted when he came on board, and last year he took the random pieces and made them competitive while building this year from absolute scratch.

The mayor now is in first place.
