Re: I like the KU fans that come to Hilton
It's pretty easy to be gracious when you're a visiting fan and you lose on the road. That wasn't the case last year at Hilton.

Re: I like the KU fans that come to Hilton
I generally don't have a problem with Jayhawk fans and actually cheer for them in the tournament. However, I will never again go to a game at the Phog. I sat in the student section during the 2005 game with a fellow Cyclone friend wearing my Iowa State gear. I quietly cheered for the Cyclones while Jayhawk fans yelled derogatory comments towards my friend and I, threatened to kick our *****, threw things at us and pushed us around. I'm not sure how we made it out unscathed after Iowa State pulled off the win. I understand that it was the student section and was probably not the best indicator of the general population at the Phog, but I have a hard time believing that Iowa State students would treat opposing visitors the same.

There's your problem there. I don't know how anyone could sit in an opposing team's student section and not get berated the whole game. I'd be disappointed if our students didn't do the same thing.

However, it's never okay to get physical with an opposing fan, especially when they are not saying anything or acting in a way that would warrant it.

Especially when they know absolutely nothing about the sport of basketball based on the comments. (literally nothing)
#### them. don't like their arrogance. Reminds me of hawkeye football fans.
I was up that way too. The chick with the high pitched scream was really annoying. I said during the game they were fast approaching Iowa fan status, at least for bb. Pretty quiet as they left after the Babb three. I was cheering Go Home Jayhawks in the the Rock chalk tone.

Did anyone see the idiot dressed in the Hawkeye sweater vest and hawkeye visor sitting in section 106? What goes through someone's mind to wear something like this to an Iowa State vs Kansas game?

Re: I like the KU fans that come to Hilton
When we showed up at the game I saw that our seats were right next to a KU dad with a 5-6 year old kid. I immediately shuddered. This was due to a bad experiecne I had at the Iowa football game this year where a similarly aged kid was allowed (encouraged) to be obnoxious all game and keep screaming "Go Hawks!" in my ear. This kid and his dad were very cool though. They cheered for their team in a respectful way. The kid also ate up every little scrap of basketball knowledge his dad would tell him. Rules, strategy, players, didn't matter, the kid was a sponge. Actually made me hope my kid ends up the same way, minus the KU hoodie of course.

Great time.
I did notice as some were leaving that they did pause and watch the celebration for a moment as to say, I'm to proud to be seen slinking out of here.
