    He has been doing this forever.

    If you ever get the chance to watch tapes, from old games in the 80's, when Hilton was a badass place for opponents, he was always going crazy...

    Hopefully, all those years off with chewey coaching, allowed him to save up his voice and excitement, for the next generation of great calls...

    You are talking about Gary Wade. I first got to know Gary playing pickup games in Beyer Hall around 1973. I think he is a professor in the Journalism dept down at Drake now. He is an Iowa grad and one day I was talking to him and he mentioned that one of his roomates at Iowa was John Johnson who happened to be one of my favorites growing up. He was a forward on an undefeated big 10 team around 1969-1970.

    Is it true that the ncaa informed him to tone it down many years ago? Back in the 80's he call on the babb 3 was commonplace. That game against iowa where lafester scored 54 was funny laaaaafester rhoooooooooods!!!!!!!!!
