Re: sweet caroline
So here are some suggestions of other songs.
Right Place Wrong Time- Dr. John
The Seeker- The Who
Who are You- The Who
I just want to Celebrate- Rare Earth(not the hokier versions!)
All Right Now-Free
Already Gone-The Eagles
Beautiful Loser-Bob Seger
Not sure of the originality of them, but not as blatant of a copy as SC.

Re: sweet caroline
Since I am from Iowa and have never watched a Red Sox game nor do I want to, I had no idea that the Red Sox play this song. I bet there are thousands of ISU fans that are not aware of that either. The only way that I know that the Red Sox play this song is from posters that seem to make it their mission to keep bringing it up. The students like it, it seems to have grown on the season ticket holders, and it now is a fun song that is associated with winning a game. Let it go. Let the fans have some fun. Who freak'n cares who else plays it. Especially when it is baseball team that no one in Iowa cares about.

Get over it. Other than the siren that was added this year, I can say for a fact that we have borrowed the game day interactions from other schools.
Cyclone Power and the Tunnel Walk were being done by Nebraska for decades.
"Another Cyclone . . .First Down" was being done by K-State since Snyder's first tenure.
I can't even say if those schools came up with those either, but ISU has borrowed most of them.
Sweet Caroline might not be the best addition during game play, but after a win is a great addition to the atmosphere.

Is this really something people are going to bring up after EVERY game!? Deal with it and move on, if you don't like it leave early! And then get on CF and ***** about people leaving early...

Re: sweet caroline
I wondered who would start the obligatory sweet Caroline thread. Shut up and deal with it, this has been discussed 1000 times on this board.

Though you did just list a number of good songs, I don't think any of them would get NEAR the same reaction that you saw from Hilton and Sweet Caroline. They just aren't conducive to jumping around and singing at the top of your lungs.

Next you'll tell me the Bulls stole the Alan Parsons Project song from the Huskers. In Nebraska they call that Bulls intro song "The Husker Song". Dead serious. Lived in central Neb from 92-96 and people would constantly call radio stations and request The Husker Song and that's what they meant by it.
This was during the height of Jordan mania even.
