Gold Rules - Great Job Fans
Before leaving for the game, I figured the student section would be wearing gold and then there would be about 10% of the other fans wearing gold. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of fans wearing gold for the game. Great job fans! For next year's Gold Rules game, lets get every single person to wear gold - I wonder what the cost difference would be for handing out gold t-shirts to everyone rather than gold towels.

A thread not ripping fans? Well done, sir.

If a place like Sigler makes shirts, a basic shirt costs them about $4.

I'll tell you it looked great on TV. The video matched up nicely with announcers talking about the crowd and "magic". One nice camera pan caught the crowd rocking out to that techno beat at one timeout. Looked awesome!

I absolutely love when they play Sandstorm. I dont think there is another song that gets the crowd pumped up like that song does.

"He is the toughest I have ever been around, physically and mentally," Burnham said. "You can beat him down but you’re not going to beat him out. He’s got the mindset of, ‘If you’re going to get me out of this game, you’re going to have to kill me.’ That’s about where he is."

two people I was with wore red because "I don't have a yellow shirt". Really? Not one yellow shirt? Doesn't even have to be Iowa State.

Re: Gold Rules - Great Job Fans
I remember coming to my first Gold Rules game during my freshman year with expectations of the place completely rocking the yellow. I got there, and hardly anyone besides the students (who got their shirts for free) were actually wearing gold. It's nice to see that these things are starting to gain more and more participation and aren't just a suggestion.

I went out and bought one for last year's game because i didn't have one. Most of my ISU stuff (and the vast majority of ISU stuff sold) is cardinal.

That's some nice national exposure. All the fans in attendance were terrific.

I too was impressed. could have been more but way more than I expected. 1 thing, cheerleaders were walking through the balcony selling cardinal shirts. what a missed opportunity. they should have hadgold ones andsold them to people wearing non gold shirts.

I agree. My wife pointed this out about the cheerleaders. If that would of had gold shirts you would think that their sales would have been at least double. Oh well, it still looked good. Hopefully we can keep getting more and more participation from the oldies in the crowd.

The towels are cool but I think the place would look so much better if everyone was in gold shirts. Maybe they could give the lower balcony gold shirts like they do for the white out since it is hard to see the upper balcony anyways. Sorry to anyone who sits in the upper balcony.

Some of the oldies participate. 90% of the people around us wore gold. Like another poster said, some people just don't have one.
