Random Thoughts on BB Team...

1) Tyrus McGee is playing very, very well for a Juco transfer. He could be one of the best 6th man in the country at the end of the year.

2) This teams needs Bubu Palo back for the Conf. and NCAA tourney to help defend the PG position and give that position depth

3) The play of Booker (rebounding and defense, and ok 3 point shooting), Chris Allen (pg play) and Ejim (defense, rebounding, and finishing inside the lane) and Bubu Palo (pg and defense) are the difference in this team being a top 40 team or a top 16 team)

4) This team should be as good as any in the conference and should be able to play with any team in the country next year. They could win the conference and be a final 8 team.

5) If this teams decides to be a very good defensive team, we could make a run to the Sweet 16.

6) The best basketball for this team will be played in Feb. and March....

I just like the fact that we have play makers all over the floor, and that everyone is starting to understand their role. I think their best basketball is in front of them, but they certainly can't take any game for granted.

Agreed with many of the points in the OP. Next year this team could be amazing. Royce coming back needs to happen but hopefully we can squeeze 1 more year out of him.

I'm not certain we need Bubu back that much but a few minutes per game out of him would be nice. Maybe 5-8 minutes.

Watching the job Fred has done in two years really puts into perspective how pathetic Greg McDermott was.

Completely agree pretty much on all of these. We need to win at least 4-5 more games this year to even be in consideration for the tournament, but I think we could make a splash IF our team plays well, as a team.

I think Booker is shooting a little better than ok from three. He has the best percentage on the team by far. Love the fact that he doesn't force either, only takes it when he is open.

I have some similar feelings about this team. I've thought for a couple weeks now that we are the 4th best team in the conference behind Missouri, Kansas, and Baylor. I honestly believe that we are a top 25 team. This team is really starting to mesh and play up to their potential. Opposing coaches having been praising us all year and I agree with what they say. If we get on a run towards the end of the season, this could be a season to remember. Now pass the Kool-aid.

Booker's range is a very pleasant surprise. Had no idea the guy could shoot.


McGee continues to impress me. I love him at the 6 spot. Great energy guy, and his range makes him even more special. Dude is also clutch.

It seems like Booker is automatic from the baseline.

I don't know about anyone else, but if we continue to look this solid throughout the year, I think next year will be huge for the program, with Clyburn and Lucious getting in the play.
