Hook'em Horns tonight! Mizzou sucks... That is all.
I'm rooting for injuries...
I want Texas to win and us to win both games this week
The way that I look at this is we will want Texas to win if we keep winning because we have an awesome chance at getting second in the conference and better pecking order for NCAA. If we do mediocre these last 10 games, we would want Missery to win because we would be battling with Texas for one of the last spots in the big Dance with Texas.
Now that Texas lost, it helps us if we do mediocre in the last 10 games.
Woulda been nice to see Texas win, then see Mizzu beat Kansas.
then we'd be right up there in the B12 race if we take care of business vs Kstate, ok st and ok, winnable games
Well, as it turns out, Texas is losing its way out of tournament contention (making ISU's loss in Austin a little worse) and Missouri is now 1 1/2 games ahead of Iowa State — that will be OK if ISU knocks off Mizzou in Columbia.
Right now, the split vs. Texas looks more and more marginal.
Texas will still be a bubble team at the end.
Here are there conference losses
@ISU
MIZZ
@KSU
vs Kansas
@ Baylor
vs Mizzou
all of them are top 5 teams...it's not like they have played okie, a&m, and tech to get to 3-6 in the conference..looking at their schedule they could easily go 7-2 in there last 9 games...the good news is that they have had most of their chances to get a great win on their resume and blew it (sorry, ISU win isn't a great win).
quote me on selection sunday, missouri winning yesterday is huge for our tournament chances...there's no way 6 big 12 teams get in...2 out of the 4 will make it in out of iowa state, texas, kansas st., and oklahoma.
Basketball isn't like football. A lot more non typical losses occur in hoops.
Regardless of what Texas has done against everyone else, I think as long as ISU mops up against the bottom half, gets a couple wins vs BU/KSU/MU and goes 6-4 to finish they'll be fine.
I expect Texas to get on a bit of roll now. Their schedule down the stretch is filled with the bottom half. Both games vs OU, and TTU still.
Texas will make a run with their schedule and developing young talent. I'm glad they lost. Our win over them will look just fine. It comes down to us taking care of business for the most part anyway but I like having less teams on our *** fighting for 4th.
Technically, 4th place doesn't mean anything to the committee but it sure sounds good.
The quickest way to climb in the standings is a combination of winning and having those ahead of you losing. So logically I was pulling for Texas. I don't think the team has conceded the top 3 spots and are trying to play for 4th. They want titles.
