I prefer ISU not being ranked til March
that way we are under the radar and dont have that target on our backk...
Love flying under the radar as of now...
Re: I prefer ISU not being ranked til March
Well when your sitting at 7-3 in conference your not really going to fly under the radar other than ignorant fans who still think of bottom feeding ISU from the Mcdermont era. Oh thank god were playing Iowa State tomorrow that should be a solid win. But other big 12 coaches have definitely taken note, and to not take us likely. Its just flying under the radar of fans, not coaches. So I prefer the ranking to get a little respect a 4 game winning streak in the big 12 with a top 5 win and being ranked 4th, should earn you ranking. Plain and simple no one respects our program and still barely thinks were a "good" team
Re: I prefer ISU not being ranked til March
We aren't flying under the radar anymore regardless of ranking.
Re: I prefer ISU not being ranked til March
Someone should email Jamie Pollard and tell him not to accept a ranking.

Re: I prefer ISU not being ranked til March
yeah i prefer we not make the ncaa tourney this year. that way next year we will be flying under the radar and we can sneak into the ncaa tourney.
Re: I prefer ISU not being ranked til March
I prefer flying under the radar (and for a carrot to be dangled in front of the team), but these latest rankings are an absolute joke; specifically teams 20-23....
Mississippi State has no signature wins under their belt; they've knocked off two ranked teams, but both games were in November against teams that flopped so badly they'd be lucky to make the tournament (aTm and Arizona).
Wisconsin has some big wins because of their great D, but they couldn't score points if the fate of the world depended on it. I predict them to get knocked off in a first-round "upset" in the tourney. They also benefit, along with most other teams in their conference, from the Big Ten being so overhyped this year.
Michigan's good, but they're not that good to deserve being ranked for the entire year. More Big Ten favoritism.
And Indiana is looking like one of the most overrated teams ever.Yeah, good for them climbing back into relevance after Sampson bent the program over, but geesh--how can you be at .500 in your conference and have dropped 5 of your last 8 (with the only wins coming against doormats) and still hold on to your ranking?
We're one terrible game from being 8-2 along with 3 other teams in the conference...all of which are ranked in the TOP SEVEN. What a disgrace.

More like 3 terrible games lol. IF we beat DRake/Northern Iowa we are top 20. Im still wondering how many more games michigan can lose and still be in the top 25.

Anyone who pays any attention to B12 Basketball knows we are a tough team. This flying under the radar is kinda BS imo.
Re: I prefer ISU not being ranked til March
We will be ranked next week if we win our next 2 games, and it will be well deserved. If we don't win the next 2 then we would have lost our ranking anyways. As far as I'm concerned, its more important that we play well enough that we should be ranked rather than actually being ranked.

I prefer being ranked THRU march

This.
Re: I prefer ISU not being ranked til March
We aren't flying under the radar anymore. That ship has sailed.
I want the ranking, the recognition, and the target. If you want to be something, you're going to be noticed along the way. We deserve it, and I want it.

This. People saying we are still under the radar are lost and not well educated on basketball.
