Marquette down 3 at half.
Colorado and Cal are currently sitting at 8-3 in the Pac. Bad example because that league sucks, but the point is virtually made.
Marquette up 7 with 12 min to play.

Plenty of potential if we take care of business.
Who flippin cares. You dont have to be ranked to make a run in the tourny.
I'm not sure where the distinction is between our beating Oklahoma in the last minutes and Mizzou's beating them in the last minutes. My idea is that we're taking two close games, but somehow voters seem to look at one team much more favorably for their close win than our close win.
I think it seems obvious that the only teams ahead of us are in the Top 10, and we hold our own with them. Their margins of victory and ours are roughly the same.
The reality is it is always harder to move up into the rankings, than to move out of the rankings after losing. We are getting lots of press, but I think it is going to take a win over Baylor to put us in the rankings. The only reason I care about being ranked is the exposure is much more national; most pubs/newspapers only care news on the top 25.
Tonight's games are us and Creighton, go Evansville!
You say ISU has held their own against the top teams. So far, ISU is 1-2 against those teams......and yes the two losses were close, but so what? They are still losses. It's not going to get any easier for ISU since 2 of the 3 games left against the top 3 in the Big 12 are on the road.
Against each other......Mizzou is 2-0, KU is 1-1, and Baylor is 0-2. So if anything, maybe Baylor is over-ranked. The games that those three have remaining against each other should be epic.
I would like to see ISU ranked as much as anyone else, but if it doesn't happen, that is not a big deal either. More than seeing them ranked, I just want to see them play well and hopefully win. Personally, I am not going to obsess over the fact as to why ISU is not ranked.
College basketball rankings mean very little. They are good for bragging rights for fans, and may help to draw a little more attention from some recruits, although I'm pretty skeptical about how much more attention that really means. I just don't see the purpose in getting upset if ISU is not ranked. So far, in the eyes of those who vote......they haven't deserved it.
