It's All Good
First off I want to say I(like the rest of you) was heart broken by the loss tonight. However, I will say it was an exciting game to watch and at least it was not a choked double digit lead in the last few minutes. I felt like we had a chance to win this game unlike the last six depressing years where the best we could hope for was 6 wins in the Big 12 and 15 overall.
Sure we can blame the players, the officials, GIA or whatever we like. I am just delighted to see the Cyclones winning two out of every three conference games. If it is kept up they can end up 12-6 in conference play, although that last set of three games will be difficult with two on the road against MU and KSU.
We have not seen how the Cyclones match up against Baylor and that should be very interesting in both venues.
Just remember the program is going the right direction, the Cyclones are finally being mentioned during NCAA tourney time again and we KNOW that we finally have Hilton Magic back.
I remember when the 86 Sweet 16 team missed the front end of 6 consecutive one and ones at GIA and dropped a close one in OT 67-65. Last time we won there was when we had the Jekyll and Hyde 87-88 team that could play well enough to beat anyone in the nation and poorly enough to lose to anyone in the nation.
It is all good, ISU against TAMU with a good focus and a better one going against Baylor. Let's just enjoy what this team has given us and continue to support them through the thick and thin.

Agree. It's a tough place to play, and OSU is not an untalented team. We were right there the whole game, looked like we could pull away a couple points, and just didn't quite get it done.

Yep. World is not falling apart. We still need to pick up 3-4 wins, but we can still do it. This one hurts, no question. But not the end of the season.

Agreed. People seem to forget that the last time we went to the dance, we only had 19 wins and lost to a very mediocre Nebraska team AT HOME in one of the last games. We've got 8+ games left, if we don't make it in, this game will not be the reason.

Re: It's All Good
We are going to look back upon this loss and laugh because we will beat Missouri and Baylor at their home and win out at home.

Last couple games they were getting lazy and sloppy again, going through stretches with horrid shots, and some really lazy defense. Hopefully this wakes everyone up again.

Re: It's All Good
People need to stop calling us a bubble team. We are way more talented than that. The only reason people think that is because we haven't been to the dance since '05. I see at least 4 more wins getting us to 21-10, a clear NCAA tournament team.

Re: It's All Good
I agree. Nothing lost here. If we would have asked ISU fans last week if we'd be satisfied with a split in Oklahoma we'd all have been fine with it. We're just bummed because of how it ended.
The team didn't play well, and missing free throws finally caught up to us. We knew we'd probably lose some for that reason. I'm still bummed of course but I'm thrilled with this team.

Yep, agree. And OK State is not as terrible as everyone makes them out to be. If this was Texas Tech, I would be PO'd, but nope..

Hopefully this wakes everyone up again. For a key stretch, we were a little casual with the ball and with passing which led to a couple of run out dunks, and one time that I remember where we just plain didn't stop the ball and gave up a lay up. Really have to make them work harder than that for their points.
I think the guys will tighten things up and be refocused for A&M. I was really worried that one of the two games this week would be a let down game, and honestly, I'd rather have it be this one, as road losses in conference are usually not viewed too poorly unless it's against a team that is flat out bad.

Re: It's All Good
Personally, I think this loss wasn't that bad. We had to drop one sometime. The thing with our conference losses so far this year is that we just come back stronger. All future home games should be a lot of fun.
