Jameel McKay - IHCC
I saw that about an hour ago Jameel McKay tweeted that "#iowastate will beat baylor tonight"..so I started to look into him and he is from Milwaukee, WI and right now he is in his freshman season at Indian Hills Community College, the 6' 8" forward is averaging 14.5 ppg and 8.1 rpg. Is he someone that we are recruiting/should be recruiting?
Here is a short highlight clip of him

I'm pretty sure I saw him at a game, maybe the texas game, but he was sitting in the athletes area and was wearing indian hills sweats, I just noticed him because he was really tall and had dreads but besides that I can't tell you much. I see he has quite a few people from Memphis following him though.
Seems like an area we need for that class though

Seems like an area we need for that class though Yeah, I bet we are loooking at him as a possibility for that class... with Booker graduating, White possibly leaving for the NBA, and even a possibility of Ejim playing more 3 his sr. year, we may want a JC big man in that class. Or, he could be a stud that we just plain want because you can never have enough top talent. Nice numbers as a fresman at a college that puts out alot of high level recruits.

Check out Iowa Westetn's PG Devin Brooks. Freshman from St. Raymond's. He was Okoros teammate the past 2 years. 14 pts 6 reb 4 ast. Coach says he has a 6-4 wingspan and plays great defense.

I thought IHCC was the one where everyone but like 2 kids were kicked off the team. Which one was it if not IHCC?

Re: Jameel McKay - IHCC
There have been a lot of really good kids come through Iowa Jucos in the past. Hopefully Fred can start to keep more of those kids that have normally tended to head to bigger name programs.

Re: Jameel McKay - IHCC
I believe the member of the staff has seen McKay play (it was reported by one of the Midwest scouting analysts via twitter last fall). Obviously being at IHCC is good for us... They have come to a practice this past fall (according to Brandon Spearman, a guard who transferred from Dayton when the coaching change went down).
I was thinking he would be a 2012, but 2013 looks good for us. The last I read (last summer/ fall) is that McKay is seen as having a lot of potential... But yeah, needs to gain some weight.
