We're soft; and BU laughed in our face

but we'll learn from it and get better. Percy stepped up and showed that he is becoming a man right in front our faces! All we need to do is continue to get better, qualify and we can run a couple of games in the tourney. Can't wait for BU to come to Ames. We just need to get a little tougher. Loved Percy tonight, he will be a beast for ISU...

Ugh, By the time we started making shots, they never missed. We both played bad overall, but we played far worse. Hilton Magic will be needed when they come to Ames

I got an idea. Why dont you meet the bus on the way back from Waco and let the boys know you think they played soft. Jeez, that crap just kills me.

Ironic given that Baylor naysayers call them soft...

Re: We're soft; and BU laughed in our face

There are probably only 2 other teams in the nation even that are even close to Baylor in athleticism (Kentucky, Syracuse and Baylor) and they are probably the longest team in the nation. Not a great matchup for us, especially contesting shots against those tall, long shooters. Add that to the obvious ease they were dunking with and I'm not sure we have a worse matchup.

Gameplan in Ames is to hope they miss those long mid range shots, and stop the careless turnovers.
"He is the toughest I have ever been around, physically and mentally," Burnham said. "You can beat him down but you’re not going to beat him out. He’s got the mindset of, ‘If you’re going to get me out of this game, you’re going to have to kill me.’ That’s about where he is."

We played ok and they played pretty well.
They will not win in Ames.
We will win at least 3 more conference games.....And it will be ok...
Make sure you don't call the charge. But make sure you call the foul on the scrum....

Re: We're soft; and BU laughed in our face

They have a lot of very good players and made open shots - Drew has been in place 9 seasons and CFH is in year 2.

Amazes me why players want to play in front of sparse crowds??? I know this is not much of a factor in their decision but why would you want to play in front of half a crowd?

Re: We're soft; and BU laughed in our face

I just can't believe they were laughing in our face. We gave up a lot of easy buckets/jams inside and they were just laughing. We just did not play good post D.. that's a weekness; we must get better, we will. Percy came in, played aggressive, scored and will be a big part of the team when we make our tourny run. We've got to get more inside, both ends, Percy showed tonight he's capable of giving one side of that action. If we get the D side, we can due some damage...

and got T'd up. Gotta play smarter, especially on the road. We have to play smarter and tougher inside. If we get there, we can surprise....big time.

We played so soft that we outrebounded them!!! We didn't play soft, our guards just couldn't stop any ******* penetration. That's all it was. Especially Christopherson. He got burnt all ******* day.

    ^^ this

Also, terrible shot selection early in the clock on several possessions. Why in the **** are we shooting 25 footers when there is still 20 seconds left on the shot clock?

I think Baylor played pretty good actually. We took too many deep threes is pretty much my only critical assessment. I like how Percy looked, we will likely need more from him when Baylor comes to town, we got owned inside. Royce had several turnovers and I agree with the announcers that he seemed to be trying to do too much at the outset. Hopefully we can come up with a defensive strategy for our next matchup. We gave up way too many easy dunks.
"Freddie knows the game," Bird said. "I'm sure he picked up a lot of stuff over the years from different people. College is different from the NBA, but I'm sure he'll do a great job."
