2012-13 Basketball Season Tickets
I have been watching the discussion on tickets sales by season ticket holders and scalpers. What do people think about the cost of tickets going up next year. I have four ticket that are down below and donate $2500. Two ticket cost $25.00 each and two cost $22.00 each plus the donation for each game. I only count half of the donation because I have football tickets. So if I ask more than face value that .is why. Do people think that there will be anymore $99.00 tickets and what can the increase be to keep it a sell out. A 5% increase would bring my ticket price to $530.00 each. Just wondering.
Re: 2012-13 Basketball Season Tickets
I would bet on $99 tickets being a thing of the past. I understand it (within reason) I am willing to up the anty on the future!
Re: 2012-13 Basketball Season Tickets
Ya we will see a little hike, but i think they might keep the $99 tickets
Re: 2012-13 Basketball Season Tickets
They keep the $99 tickets until the place sells out of season tickets. Sellouts for 5 games helps, but you need to sell out the craptastic early game tickets too.

Maybe they'll reduce the area that the $99 tix are good for, but I don't think they'll do away with them anytime soon.

At least this, should have bumped them up this year and then gone to 149 next year.
Re: 2012-13 Basketball Season Tickets
I think they could certainly up the $99 tickets just a bit.

$50 increase in that timeframe is crazy. That pushes your market right out the door.
I won't be surprised if they go to $125. I won't like it, because increased expenses are just not what the doctor ordered for our family right now, but I would understand that.
If there were a $50 increase in a short window, I think that would push me out. Discretionary income is scarce for our family.

If anything, they raise the balcony corners a little bit, say $125, but keep that one balcony end at $99. But, who knows...

Still a bargain compared to the other seats, been 99 for a long time, needed to do at least 20 dollar increase each year, trust me people will take your place next year. If not, save them for conference games and get 25 bucks a ticket.

$20/year is way too much.
The whole point of the corners is that they serve as a gateway in a state with plenty of less-impressive incomes.
I'm replaceable. No argument there. At the same time, there's an upper limit that they can charge for the corners. Do $20/year for a couple of years, and you'll have current and potential buyers very, very suspicious that it will just keep going up. That chases people out and keeps new buyers away.

We didn't sell out all season tickets at $99 increasing the price that much would get more people and would probably cause more people to not buy tickets.

I agree. I think they will go up, but you don't want to give fans the sense that you are going to turn them upside down and shake their pockets out once they've got a good product on the floor, especially when it's the loyal fans who've already been buying tickets.
Perhaps an idea would be to up the existing a bit, and raise the new season ticket sales (non-renewed) a bit more than that.
