I'm Looking Ahead ...
So is there any chance the team is looking ahead to K-State? And if so, does it matter given we're playing Tech?

Re: I'm Looking Ahead ...
They best not be. Focus 100 percent on each game. We dont want a loss from Tech on our resume.

Re: I'm Looking Ahead ...
I hope not. It's probably not the best of indicators, but Royce's tweet about "chopping off heads" Wednesday night, suggests that the Red Raiders have his full attention.

Re: I'm Looking Ahead ...
In the noncon season, I would have thought there was a pretty solid chance.
At this point, with the way they show up for every game, it's a very slim chance. It could happen, but I don't believe it will.

Re: I'm Looking Ahead ...
hope not.. no game is guranteed look at the girls game last night...
Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative. ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other." -
Re: I'm Looking Ahead ...
I think the best way to prepare for K-State is to focus 100% on beating Texas Tech like a drum. Hopefully we can start hitting on all cylinders tonight and carry it over to the remaining games on our schedule.
Probably the best thing we have going is that K-State has played a rough stretch of games.

Re: I'm Looking Ahead ...
I should be worried about a game like this. But then Tech is so incredibly bad, and we are playing them at home. Even with a bad day, we should defeat them.
Now I know, that is the kind of logic that makes one "look ahead"....

Re: I'm Looking Ahead ...
This Tech team might be the worst team in the Big 12 since the conference came about. That being said, they still got Oklahoma, so you cant look past them (And yes, I know OU isnt great). I dont think Hoiberg will allow them to look past this game

Re: I'm Looking Ahead ...
Check out Royce's twitter. At least he isn't looking ahead.

Re: I'm Looking Ahead ...
I hope we aren't but even if they are, I don't think Tech is good enough to beat us.
-
Re: I'm Looking Ahead ...
We're definitely not looking ahead. The coaching staff may be scouting K-State but the players won't be doing anything involving K-State until after the game tonight. Scotty and Hoiberg, after every win, say "this win doesn't mean anything unless we can get the next one." Hoiberg has put emphasis on the importance of every individual game for this team.
That being said, it doesn't really matter if we look ahead or not. Royce White is going to go off on these guys. 20+ points, 15+ boards, 10+ assists.

Re: I'm Looking Ahead ...
I think it helps that it's for the 20th win... great accomplishment to win 20, and the earlier the better. Hope team has that mentality. From what coach Hoiberg has said, I think he is focused on TT.

Re: I'm Looking Ahead ...
1. Aside from Allen, we have nobody playing on this team that has played in a NCAA tournament game.
2. We have a team full of guys, led by Scotty, that have set that as their main goal.
3. They know that in order to accomplish that goal, they absolutely have to beat Tech.
I can't see a scenario where Tech doesn't have our full attention.

Re:I'm Looking Ahead ...
Or maybe Purple Kansas is looking past ISU. They're sitting pretty fat and sassy after their last week

I think we'll come out slow but put them away with a 20-4 run in the second half..Tech is better then when we played them.
Come here to chew bubble gum and kick ***, have I. And all out of bubble gum, I am.
