The Kansas game had a completely full parquet and 50% full balcony at least. I would think that would be over 50% of the student section, but who knows.

Kansas they didn't scan a lot of people. The doors opened and they just let people run in. Same thing happened for the Iowa game.

The problem is that they can be though. While it makes it more convenient for some, when a bunch of parents buy them for their kids at orientation, it increases the chances they dont get used. Hell, might be the same problem in football, we just might not see it because of how many hillside tickets find their way into the student section.

Re: Student Ticket Redemption Rate: 39%
CA just makes too dificult on students to attend games. You must register for the group then meet on the mandated t-shirt pick up days. If you don't get your shirt right away then you have to go more out of your way to get it. Kids are lazy and busy with school. Just let them go to the game wearing what ever they want and sit in the assigned student scetion. CA is composed of all freshman dudes anways what upper classman wants to go to the lame section with a bunch of freshman dudes?
It is not considered cool to be in CA so get ride of it so kids stop associating CA with student section at basketball games.
End of Story

End of Story You don't have to register with anything. Was included in student season tickets this year. Going to the game to pick up a shirt...how outrageous! And CA is a bunch of freshman dudes? Why do I recognize a lot of the same people from years past?

1) Those who bought $99 student tickets and a CA t-shirt to go down front anyway
2) Those who run in at the front of the line and don't get scanned
But they are the only figures that the Athletics Department has to go by.

Some people have been there for years and years.

I know that last night there were at least 10 of us in the student seats. That makes the "eye test" unreliable.

But they are the only figures that the Athletics Department has to go by. So theyre completely worthless stats, as one could see just by looking at the student section.
Why even have tickets if you're just going to let people run in?

Re: Student Ticket Redemption Rate: 39%
These numbers don't seem surprising to me. However, I don't think the cyclone alley t shirts have anything to do with the bad attendance. Too many students buy the cy's pass when they only go to football games. Their parents go ahead and buy it even if they won't go to the basketball games. It happens to all the freshmen every year. Freshmen get to buy tickets at the same time as upperclassmen, and this year they sold out. I go to almost every mens game and half of the girls games, but I still had to buy corner season tickets because they sold out of student tickets.
Most of the student ticket holders don't go. Believe me, it makes students mad too.
Anyways, this is how I see it playing out. They oversell tickets next year. The student section fills up, and the athletic department gets more moolah. It's a win-win for everyone in charge. The students like cyclone alley, and it's a good deal. (thirty bucks for four t shirts and all the other reward points stuff) Without it, there would be no order.

Why even have tickets if you're just going to let people run in? For the big games they tell the ticket scanners to just get out of the way so no one gets hurt. An old man got knocked over last year before the Kansas game when they tried to scan them. Students got pushed through because everyone was trying to run through the doors.
