That's nothing new for Minnesota. When I was growing up, after the Bobby Jackson Final Four team, it seemed like they always had players leave way too early.

Re: What could have been for the Gophers
who cares, why are we talking about this big 10 doormat.
Re: What could have been for the Gophers
Minnesota was hella good to begin the season, then Mbakwe went down and so did the Gophers Season
Re: What could have been for the Gophers
Same thing happened to us... What could of been....
What happened to us turned out for the best in the long run.

You mean the season that technically didn't happen.

Exactly. If half of ISU's transfers had stayed we would have had to sit through mediocre years of McValley ball instead of horrible years. They would have been good enough to still keep him here due to potential for the next year.

And yet I remember watching it....strange. :wideeyed:
Re: What could have been for the Gophers
Assuming both would be juniors next year (I know it's a stretch) who would you take?
1. Wes Johnson (arguably the best player to transfer out)
2. Royce White (arguably the best player to transfer in)

Re: What could have been for the Gophers
I thought W Johnson was going to be a great player for us, but definitely Royce his game is better.
Re: What could have been for the Gophers
Wes became a the 4th pick in the draft. AP All-American, averaged 16.0 pts and 8.4 assists in 2009-10, and led his team to the Sweet Sixteen.
Tough decision, got to think Wes's points would have been higher at ISU. Don't know if the pieces were in place to be a great team while he was here though.
I guess I would go with Royce, because we know he can take us to the tourney. Unsure if Wes could do that, as good as he was. We have a better overall team than we ever had back then.
Re: What could have been for the Gophers
always nice to be on the good end of things. Royce White is a stud

Rebounds? And now wes is a terrible pro by most accounts. I would take both.

Yes, my bad, it was rebounds. Can't sneak anything past CF.
