RPI went down?
Is it purely because we haven't played MU and Baylor again?...
We are now down to 42. Link -

We are now down to 42. Link That RPI is two games old now
Rivals/Yahoo has us at 31 after the KSU win this weekend.

Re: RPI went down?
Sportsline's RPI rankings haven't updated in like a week, it's weird.

Re: RPI went down?
Sorry guys disregard this until they truly update it I guess... I assumed they had it right because it said 2/27 update. But didn't even look at the record.

Re: RPI went down?
kenpom.com also has us at #31. I've always liked his rankings better than RPI anyway.

Ohio State at 2? Kenpom leaves a lot to be desired iMO

LukeMeredith @LukeMeredithAP
Iowa State just misses out on first @AP_Top25 ranking since 2005. Cyclones receive 80 points, seconds among others receiving votes.

Purdue is 6-7 against the RPI top 50. Interesting to note that Iona, Miami (FL), and Northwestern(twice) account for 4 of those top 50 wins.
Iona? The Gaels are 24-6 this year. They have 0 top 50 wins, they have 6 wins against the 51-100 teams, 8 of their wins are against 101-200 teams, and 10 of their wins are against teams ranked 201 or worse. Someone explain to me how Iona is so high in the RPI? 0 quality wins, 3 losses to teams ranked outside of the top 100 (2 of which were to teams ranked 201 or lower), their best win is against St. Josephs, and that is impressive enough to be #42 in the RPI? -

Ohio State at 2? Kenpom leaves a lot to be desired iMO The RPI is based purely on record, and is a really outdated formula. Pomeroy is a stathead, who bases his ratings on a number of factors that have been shown in recent years to be much better indicators of the "quality" of a particular team. Many national writers and pundits reference his rankings, so he must be doing something right.
