80 votes in AP, 8 in coaches
Thought we might get a few more in the coaches poll, but this week could be a big week.

Re: 80 votes in AP, 8 in coaches
I think the coaches poll is dumb. Do people really think they have enough time to watch other games to properly rank teams? Most of the coaches have their assistants fill them out anyway.
And no, I'm not just saying this because we aren't ranked this week.

And no, I'm not just saying this because we aren't ranked this week. Assistants, or SID's - all of whom have incentive to make their conference look better.

i think that's the most we've gotten in the AP all year isn't it?

And no, I'm not just saying this because we aren't ranked this week. Yeah I think they just need a poll that actually involves people inside the business, not just the media. I didn't expect us to be ranked anyways though.

Maybe they could have a poll that just involves the head office of the NCAA. "There are five real good recruits in the state. We got three of them. One couldn’t get into school, and the other went to (the University of) Iowa...which is about the same thing." - Coach Johnny Orr -

I doubt FH knows any more about the Pac 10, than say, jerry palm

Polls are worthless unless the individual voters' votes are made public.

And no, I'm not just saying this because we aren't ranked this week. Yep, my buddy who was a grad assistant did it for his coach for 2 years. He was over at my place last year and I did it for him and called it in. So I had a vote last year as a coach...........
And no I didn't vote for Iowa State

Re: 80 votes in AP, 8 in coaches
CBSsports has us at 24. And our little tidbit reads...
"The Cyclones have 11 Big 12 victories and 20 wins in a season for the first time in eight years. Barring a weird collapse, The Mayor is going to the NCAA tournament."
Nothing we didn't already know, except for I'm not sure any collapse will keep us out. Not sure losing to MU, BU, and KSU in the tourney could really be considered a collapse anyways.

I like flying under the radar. If we keep winning we'll secretly be the hottest team in the nation going into the tourney.

Do you honestly think that if we beat a top 10 team on the road and top 15 team at home that we will still be under the radar??? Miles Simon already tweeted that ISU is his sleeper pick in the NCAA's.
