I think it's sad that even the pro CA people on here say the only reason it exists is to drain money out of the students to the SAA. I was also there during the transition and I had the same feelings as you. I had a couple buddies that were CA members when it was split and they would still sit in the GA section because they were just more into the game. I finally joined when they made the entire lower level CA, and I could feel an immediate change in the feeling of the student section from the year before with the general admission, and it wasn't a positive change.

I'd hope that popular tickets like Kansas still go out via lottery, with priority to those who have attended the most games up to the point of the lottery.
Even the best CA members can't make every game, but attendance should be rewarded while allowing for some flux from night to night
EDIT: Other possible idea for rewarding frequent attenders - leave a certain allotment of seats "reserved" until a certain point before tip off for folks that have X number of points (a floating number as the season progresses), keeping them from getting turned away because of some commitment keeping them a little late. Those with fewer attendance points could enter up to the point where "reserved" seats haven't been claimed, then wait for those seats to be released (You have 2000 seats... keep 200 slots available for the top attenders until say, 15 minutes before tip off, then release their seats to others who are waiting)
Probably too complex to impliment, but it'd be a way of keeping your core students happy when overselling games

Too many students and too few students is a problem I wouldn't mind having. Do like my freshman year and make the Iowa/Kansas tickets a "sit outside and wait forever" fest.
The no t-shirt thing should make everyone involved happy.

They should still give out a T-shirt but not neccesarily require it be worn. Maybe give bonus points for wearing it

If you're at Iowa State and don't own a cardinal/red shirt may God have mercy on your worthless soul.

If they do away with the shirt completely the better not charge 30 dollars then. I think they should still give out t shirts, but just not require them worn.

You don't know what they charged this year. It wasn't displayed like it has been in the past. Regardless, the prices for students tickets aren't going to fall. They know they can sell out the student section at $125.

I was there during the CA/Non-CA days. We never switched over to CA until it was required for lower level seating.
It was very obvious during the CA/GA days which side was rowdier and more effective at getting into the opponents' head.
In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection. -
Re: Tentative Cyclone Alley for 2012-2013 season
Overselling student tickets=good idea. Turning away someone that bought tickets=bad idea. If you are not there in time to get a seat, you should have to stand somewhere, not be turned away.

Standing room only is a bit tricky in a basketball arena....
