Will be back for the race in May. I actually live in Carmel, so I'm well familiar with Zionsville.
And trust me, it'll be more than one bucket, regardless of how the game goes.
As for the alumni association, they're a good group, just generally tend to get together more for football. Maybe that'll change come tourney time. Iowa State doesn't have a huge following in the Indy area. When I wore my ISU garb down to Super Bowl Village, I got a few "Go Cyclones" but for whatever reason, got a lot more "**** Iowa State"s.

I didn't click the link, but I assume it makes more sense now.

Sit at the bar and then you will make friends with the bartenders. That's what I do while traveling.

Re: Would this be considered pathetic?
Go someplace that has an actual bar to sit at. Sitting at the bar has made drinking alone socially acceptable for decades. If you get a table, yeah that's pathetic.

Re: Would this be considered pathetic?
I have sat alone at the bar at Fox & Hound on more than one occasion for the sole purpose of watching a Cyclone game. They have plenty of TV's so you can also catch some other games during the break, and they have pretty good sandwiches as well. and have always been willing to put the Cyclone game on a TV for me. And there is a F&H in Carmel so grab a seat, sit back and enjoy a Cyclone victory. (The wondering eyes are looking at the waitresses, same as mine do).

As for boozing by yourself at the bar...I say do it!

No, in all honesty, I've been boozing throughout the day already. I've noticed most of my posts have had spelling errors this afternoon. It's bound to only get worse.

So, if I went to the bar, on my own, on a Saturday night, and ordered a bucket of beer and watched the game, would it be pathetic? Uh, no. That would be considered awesome.

Re: Would this be considered pathetic?
Not pathetic if watching a game. If you have three kids at home unattended, are wearing an ankle bracelet and have 3 DUI's then pathetic.
"For the great enemy of truth is very often not the lie -- deliberate, contrived, and dishonest -- but the myth -- persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic. Too often we hold fast to the clichés of our forebears. We subject all facts to a prefabricated set of interpretations. We enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought."
