If you are... we've performed like a top 20 team since january 1. We finished 3rd in the league. I'd say we've done plenty to earn respect.

If I look at it with no emotion, I'd pick Texas every time.

Teams split regular season, records not drastically different. ISU coming off emotional win and ranked for first time in years. Texas is pretty much playing an elimination game.

That said, I still think we have the team to overcome the "motivation" factors that seem to be in UT's favor.

Now if we beat them and play Mizzou, all those motivational factors are in ISU's favor.

Re: We open as 1 pt underdogs against texas

I am only concerned when the guys are actually supposed to win the game according to the odds makers. Historically Iowa State has always performed best as the underdogs. Our worst disasters occurred in games we were heavily "favored" to win. Think back to the last time the Cyclones MBB team won 20 games in the regular season and those two games that followed that we shall not mention.

Remember all those stupid comments made by Stockton and Packer in the 86 2nd Round game against mighty Michigan? They sure ended up looking and sounding really stupid at the end of that one!

Not to call CW out, but 14+3+1=18. Haven't we played over 30 games? This must be just for conference play.....now that I think about it more, that is probably what it is duh....18 games.

I think those are just the ones we weren't favored in not the conference games. But I might be wrong.

Didn't they make some comment about "men" against "boys"? (Just one of many stupid comments)
