Count me in as someone that would be very happy with an 11 seed. I wouldn't mind an 11. It probably won't happen, but I wouldn't be upset with it if that means we don't have to face a 1 or 2 if we win the first game.
I would take on Duke or Ohio State though if I had a choice. Maybe Michigan State on the fringe, but probably not. Sullinger vs. White would be interesting. Sullinger is a dough boy and can't jump.

Re: 3-9-2012 Bracketology
I think we're pretty much locked into the 8-9 game but I could see us being a 7 as well. With the loss last night, we gained another RPI top 50 win since Texas moved up too 44 after beating us. Not many teams have that many.

Re: 3-9-2012 Bracketology
Another thing to possibly keep in mind is our resume is still near-identical to Florida, which is being seeded much higher. Just because the media insists on sticking with their preconceived biases and places us in an 8-9 game doesn't necessarily mean the committee is going to think the same way.

Yep, that's why I could see us seeded anywhere from 6-9. Just compare us and Vanderbilt, it very similar. Most have them as a 6 seed.

Re: 3-9-2012 Bracketology
I think we will do better in the NCAA tournament first, because we now will have time to rest and get refocused. And second because these teams don't know us as well. The round robin schedule of the Big 12 has let teams get to scout us twice and in Texas' case three times. Will Purdue know in detail that Allen can light it up if left wide open it or just how good Royce can see the floor without ever playing us?

Florida is a 6 seed on a 3 game losing streak and currently only up by 2 at the half against Alabama. Record wise we are also almost the exact same we Florida State and they are a 4-5 seed. Though they do have a high SOS but similar RPI.
I think we will get a 7-9 seed but I wouldn't be shocked if we got a 6. There are a bunch of mid majors in the 7 and 6 seeds that could get bumped to an 8 or 9 depending on how the committee sees them.

Re: 3-9-2012 Bracketology
I just compared our resume to everyone of the 6 seeds from this mornings bracketology and there isn't much of a difference between them, if any at all. The only team that has more RPI top 50 wins than us is Notre Dame and they have only one more.

Re: 3-9-2012 Bracketology
In my mind, generally the difference between 6-10 seeds isn't that great. Regarding FSU, they do have better wins than us.
