Will Blalock thinks he was "sold" to ISU, regrets coming here...
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/11/sp...r=1&ref=sports
Oh boy.
Blalock said he believed that Driscoll sold him to Iowa State, although he stressed he had no proof. When Iowa State fired Eustachy in the spring of 2003, Blalock said, Driscoll instructed him to call the athletic director, Bruce Van De Velde, and say he would attend another university unless Iowa State hired the assistant Wayne Morgan as Eustachy’s replacement. Morgan was hired, Blalock kept his commitment and Blalock said Driscoll visited Ames about four times a season. (A spokesman at Hofstra, where Morgan now works as an assistant, said Morgan could not be reached for comment.)
“I don’t like to live with regret, but every now and then, I do regret going there,” Blalock said. “When it was time to make my decision with the N.B.A., even though my numbers were better than the guys in my class at point guard, all of them went to bigger-name schools and got picked ahead of me.”

And the Wayne Morgan rumors start to become reality.

Nice. Those comments alone drop him on my list of faves.

Where you go really has nothing to do with where your drafted. A PG from Weber State is going to be drafted in the first round this year. I hope this doesn't turn ugly though.

Lol Will....come on guy, you made 30% of your lay-ups while in school. That's not Iowa State's fault.

Sounds bitter he made the wrong decision and didn't make it in the league.

I don't think him getting drafted any higher would have made him good enough to play in the NBA. He'd still be the same guy. Should have just stayed for his last year.

Yeah it sounds like he's blaming Iowa State for him not getting making it big in the league, but reality is he's just not good enough to play at that level. Sour grapes and all that.

Thing is, he still made the NBA and got a shot. It wasn't like Diante Garrett who really didn't get a shot with a team.
He had a health issue too when he was with the Pistons didn't he? Blood clot or something? Couldn't that have been the issue?

I don't blame him for his comments. I think he is simply trying to say he did not develop as a player at ISU as much as he could have elsewhere- under a better coach. His experience may well have been different under a coach like Hoiberg. It may be a mild case of sour grapes- but I don't think we should hold these comments against Will

These comments don't seem like a real big deal on that point, but this thread will still get ugly.
As to Morgan's involvement, that could get all sorts of ugly, or just die away. Curious to see where that goes.

Little boy can't make his own decisions.

ISU did, though, give his mom a job.
