Big East "consultant" chair of NCAA committee?

Could THAT be why the Big East landed 9 teams?

No, he has to leave the room whenever Big East teams are discussed. There is no conspiracy here. They didn't get anyone in they shouldn't have.

A quick little comparison: Big East got 9/16 teams in (56.25%). Big 12 got 6/10 (60%). No conspiracy. Big East is a good (basketball) conference...

They have 78 teams in the Big East, so 9 isn't that outrageous.

They (the committee) doesn't learn. What was it last year? 11 teams.....and I think 8 lost in the first weekend. Something like that. IMO, Big East is over-rated again this year. Top couple of teams are good.....but average after that.

Hathaway was UConn's AD but was fired. The Big East hired him so he could be NCAA selection committee chair (he was already appointed).

The Big East was so bad last year that their 9th place team won the NCAA championship.

Also FYI, Gottlieb picked you guys.

I think Big East fared about as "poorly" as could be expected. Seton Hall didn't make it. USF forced into play-in game. UConn seeded in 8/9. West Virginia got a 10 (although it's more like an 8/9 matchup).
