When I finally came down to earth around 10pm last night...I started to come to the same conclusions. High risk, high reward. They gave us a hard road but on the other side of things they gave UCONN and Kentucky the hardest road too.

Well, it's still UConn with a HOF coach and a great program. They have a lot of talent this year, and were top 10 at one point, but lost a good number of close games (like us) and weren't quite what they could have been. They are still dangerous.

I liked that rant. Funny references, and he makes a good point: Why not get enthusiastic about the opportunity to knock off UConn AND Kentucky? Especially in a situation where KY is almost guaranteed to be overlooking us.

The only thing I would quibble over is the number of ISU fans with the "sour grapes" attitude about this tourney invite. I would say that the aggrieved fans are definitely a tiny minority, so why call out the whole fanbase over a VERY small portion?

My opinion? We could have gotten a better seed, but ultimately it comes down to beating whoever gets put up against us. It's not as if we got an 8 seed after a 24 win season, right? Sure, I think we COULD have gotten a 7 or God forbid a 6 seed based on our conference record; however, we got what we got. Best thing we can do is win anyway and increase our respect for next season.

The one good thing about playing UConn is that I'm not going to be as ****** off if we lose than I would have been if we would have lost to a team like St. Louis or Southern Miss.

One thing is for certain. If we get past UConn....all eyes are on ISU-Kentucky. We would have nothing to lose and would go balls out. Kentucky has everything to lose in that game.

Yep - we gotta look at this as an opportunity that no ISU team has had in a very long time.

Two wins, just two simple wins and we will launch into next season with so much force it hurts the mind to even think of it..... of course I in hopes of more than just two more wins, but lets take one at a time. Give 'em hell Cyclones!

We can't get wins like this without playing games like this.

As I left my office for the Oklahoma State football games, people were jeering me about why I would even bother to go to the game. I said that I want to be there when we win. You can't be there for the win without being there for the game.

This is a great opportunity. Beating the defending national champion itself will be great. Let's get that win, then look to the next great opportunity we have.

Winning these games is what will get us noticed.
