Which board did you register on? The Boneyard is the best and most active one.
As far as posting privileges, I'm not sure. I've seen at least one Iowa State fan post so far, so I'd imagine it's just to keep people from spamming a bunch of different accounts if they get banned.
I signed up back in September and I don't think I ever got privileges haha
