Just realized something:
If we beat Kentucky tomorrow, and VCU takes care of Indiana, then we have a chance to knock off 3 of last year's Final Four teams.
Maybe it's good for Butler that they didn't make it.
How many times has that ever happened?

It really did shape up nicely to be an EPIC tournament run if ISU can keep knocking off teams. After a potential VCU win we could potentially:
-have a chance to knock off Duke and be able to say that we beat the last TWO national champions in the tourney
-meet Mich. St. and avenge the 2000 Elite Eight, or meet Mizzou and get the 3rd shot at them that we wanted in KC.
-meet UNC and Harrison Barnes in the finale.
Obviously wishful thinking, but it would be a run for the ages.
And what a way for Freddie to show his tourney coaching chops, you get Calhoun in round one, Coach Cal in round 2....wow.
Speaking of opportunities:
On a cool night in november, OSU came in the favorite to receive its official invite to the championship in 2 weeks. ISU came out and shocked everyone.
Now, ISU faces Kentucky. They are also the favorite to receive their ticket to the title game in 2 weeks. History repeating?
You're right, that's got a better ring to it.
If anybody in Louisville has time today, I've got a great sign idea for the game. Blow up a picture of one those "Hello my name is..." name tag stickers and fill in the text so it says "Hello My Name Is: Iowa State, we ruin national championship runs"
I think it should be the F****** Iowa State Cyclones a said in the same style as the F****** Catalina wine mixer
Also, as we are in the bracket with the #1 overall seed, beating them means you get the "easiest" route to the final four, although there really are no gimmes after the first week.
