Coach K = Class act
Listening to the post game interview following Duke's loss to Lehigh, I gained more respect for Coach K. I already had a tremendous amount of respect for him as a coach but that interview just re-affirmed it.
The reporter gave him a perfect "out" by asking him about losing Kelly and the first thing he replies is, "thats no excuse". He then went on to give Lehigh credit for beating his guys and not his guys ******* it down their legs.
With the lack of sportsmanship in some post game comments over the last few days, I found this refreshing and I think it is a big reason he is as successful as he is.
I don't know if this was brought up in the Duke v. Lehigh thread but thought it deserved it's own space.
Stay Classy Coach K, but I'm still happy Duke lost -
Re: Coach K = Class act
I like Coach K. I hate Duke. It's the media slobbering over Duke that makes me hate them (oh, and most of their players), but their coach is a class act.

Re: Coach K = Class act
He also mentioned that the best player on the floor was a Lehigh player, huge compliment. Class act.

Re: Coach K = Class act
But he didn't give enough pros to lehigh what an *******!
Signed,
That idiot posting about calhoun last night on this website

Agreed. Very nice compliments although the rat has job security unlike 95% of the rest of college basketball coaches. Loved seeing dOOKy get beat.

Yep, I hate Dook but its hard to hate Coach K. Just think, he almost came to ISU! I think it was Coach Knight that talked him out of it.
(yes Im happy we have Fred.)

Re: Coach K = Class act
Coach K wrote the epilogue to a Feinstein book I have. He talked about choosing Duke over us. His quote from Knight was: "I don't see how you can say no to Iowa State." Obviously he didn't take Knights advice.

Alan +1...I think Coach K's a decent guy but hate the program... Anyone else think he looked really sickly in that interview? I don't know if it was the light or what but the guy looked like he aged another 10 years.

I'm the same way. And at the end though, who are you going to credit for the win. IMO, it's always better to give the other team credit for beating you as opposed to your team losing. Losing always falls on the coach.
That is not to take anything away from Coach K though. In a lot of ways, always being in the position his teams are, when it happens that often, odds are you are going to lose one. Too bad it couldn't happen to Roy boy instead of Coach K.
