What a Season!!!
I can't say enough about how fun this season was. I love this team, they played their guts out tonight, and that is all you can ask. I love the heart and class our team shows. This is a direct reflection of Coach Hoiberg. I truly believe he is going to take us to new heights.
Scotty: I will remember all the heart and soul you put into your time here at ISU. You truly are one of the best pure shooters we have had here, and it was a pleasure to watch you play in Hilton.
Chris: I will remember how you kept your head straight, and kept working hard despite some tough moments at times. You played your best ball in the NCAA tourney, and it was a great to see you make all those nay-sayers eat their words.
Royce: What can I say, I have never seen such a great player at ISU. You truly are one of the best players in the country. Such a beast on the floor, and a intelligent great kid off the floor. I would love it if you came back, but will gladly accept whatever decision you make.
To the rest of the team, I am excited to see you all next year. We can really learn a ton from this experience, and can really take things up a notch next year.
Thanks for a great season Cyclones. Go State!!!

Re: What a Season!!!
Great post. People tend to forget being in last place last year and all the work, criticism, and disrespect these guys got this year and they overcame it and exceeded expectations.
Had the most fun this year as a Cyclone fan since at least the Elite 8 year for certain.
I WAS THERE!!!!!! -

Re: What a Season!!!
I just love how much heart this team has had under Hoiberg. Even last year we fought tooth and nail in every game.
His gameplan was great tonight, and we executed it really well. Sometimes shots dont fall, that is part of the game. Tonight they didnt fall for us, and KY was unconscious the last 15 minutes of the game.

Re: What a Season!!!
I love this ****!ng team. Makes me sad that we won't see them play another game together.

Re: What a Season!!!
The team I watched vs. Michigan in December and the team we saw this weekend — night and day.
Even the in-game coaching Hoiberg did vs. UK — that game could have gotten to a 30-point game before halftime. I kept seeing adjustments out of timeouts - play just about any of the other round-of-32 teams and ISU is in Sweet 16.

Re: What a Season!!!
I agree, Fred has come a long way over the last couple seasons too.

Fred is the man! It's just going to keep getting better.

Re: What a Season!!!
Yeah. What he said.
Whatever flavor of KoolAid you're drinking, I'll take a glass. This season wasn't the culmination of years of hard work and preparation. This was an unexpected payoff from Fred scrambling around trying to fill out his roster......less than 2 years ago. Imagine how we'll look when we have stability.

Re: What a Season!!!
Excellent.
The Mayor and the young men from Iowa State have given us an unforgettable season!
We need to thank them all for their determination and their selflessness. Whether they won or they lost, the Cyclones and their fans could hold their heads high because the team did it all with class and style. They gave respect and they earned it for themselves.
Isn't that what sports are supposed to be about? Fred Hoiberg and the Cyclones are living proof that they can be. GO CYCLONES !!!
Best TEAM in the United States -
