I think i'm leaning toward this. We were barely average until B12 season started. It will be tough to match the conference results but I like the chances.

we need another TRUE 5 cause now the only reliable one we have is Percy. Pelle would be a much needed pick up for us.
I really like Percy. He showed he has the ability to score around the basket and make some very difficult and contested shots. He had several games this year where he saw just a few minutes of playing time but contributed significantly. He had 9 points in 10 minutes against Kentucky, had 10 points in 12 minutes against Texas, had 11 points and 7 boards in 23 minutes against Oklahoma, had 9 points in 13 minutes against Baylor, etc.....
With an off-season to work on his game he will be a huge asset for this team next year.
From what I hear, Pelle still has a long, long way to qualify.
My advice is to temper expectations on Pelle. Not saying that anything will or won't happen but there's no point in naming this kid as the second coming for Iowa State basketball or anything like that.
Lol. Losing White hurts the team a lot more than people think. We should make it again without him, but I wouldn't count on making it as far or any further like we could have with another year with White.
White is an outstanding player but we have some pretty solid post players that can score and rebound, a few new guys coming in, and a couple of true point guards coming in.
Guys that can handle the ball and bring it up the floor. Check
Guys that can rebound. Check
Guys that can score under the basket. Check
There isn't one guy that can replace the talent of a guy like Royce White which is what made him so special but I think the team will have enough talented players on the roster to replace his production by committee. That should make the team stronger as they won't be counting on 1 guy to do so much. I wish Royce was coming back but this team will be just as good or even better as a collective due to a more even distribution of the responsibilities. It really is a testament to just how good Royce White was. The guy could simply do it all.
A lot of people were predicting possible Big 12 champs with a deep tourney run. I don't think anyone is as bold to predict that right now when we don't have Royce, but if this team gels together next season it's certainly possible. There is more uncertainty without Royce (as throughout the season Royce proved that he was a truly great player), but I think this can still be a very good team. Royce was a matchup nightmare for other teams, but if Gibson can continue developing, Babb gets his stroke back, and Lucious and Clyburn live up to their names, this team will still be very dangerous next year.
We'll make the tourney. Royce said himself that Clyburn is just as good or even better than he is. Also the offense would have been a lot different for Royce if he stayed, Lucious will be handling point all the time. Percy will be solid and so will Georges. It'll get the younger players a lot more playing time. Also opens room if we try and get Lockett from ASU
