Liatening to Van Coleman on Garman and Cotlar... Just dropped a bomb on me.
Says ISU has been recruiting Orlando Sanchez, a 6'-8" PF from Monroe CC (currently playing in the NJCAA championships in KS) for some time now, as a replacement for Royce.
I had no idea... CW, or SvrWx - can anyone verify this?
Kid is originally from Dominican Republic, Monroe CC is in the Bronx. Good teams involved, I'll get rivals posted...
Sounds like an interesting prospect.....just goes to show we have no idea what Fred and his boys have planned!

This recent article says Providence or St. Johns are the presumed favorites.
Rivals.com Basketball Recruiting - Hectic first day at NJCAA Nationals
Buzz amongst college coaches around the Hutchinson Sports Arena Tuesday had Sanchez leaning towards St. John's or Providence. His coach wouldn't confirm any leaders, but did say that his player is likely to remain in the East and also talked about what will be important in the decision making process.
Had a good game against Indian Hills:
During their first round game in Hutch, Monroe faced a tough foe when they squared off with seventh ranked Indian Hills. With 18 points , 12 rebounds, four blocked shots and three assists, Sanchez was a big part of his squad's 81-69 win.
I hope hes a dirty player because......well.......you know why.
If it sounds like he's staying out east, maybe we have moved on. I have yet to hear that a staff member has been/ is at the NJCAA 'chip - although reports are nearly 100 D1 programs are represented in Hutchinson, so we could go unnoticed.
