Re: Big 12 Next Season
KU
Texas
Kstate
WV
Okie St
ISU
Baylor
OU
TCU
Tech
I think we get atleast 6 teams in, the conferece won't be as top heavy with Mizzou gone and KU/Baylor hit hard by turnover but the league will be much stronger top to bottom. OU was competitive with most teams at home last year, I expect them to be improved, and Tech will struggle but they'll be better than last season. Okie St could be the ISU of next season, they may be the most athletic team in the league but will need a true PG. WV loses a couple studs but Huggy can coach, I expect them to hold their own right away. I see Baylor as the biggest drop, they just lose too much.

The only bigger turnoff than finding out a woman smokes, is finding out she's a Husker fan. -

Plus you have to remember that their top recruit this year had to sit out and will be eligible to play next year. Ben McLemore, and I saw somewhere that Self and other members of the team said he could have the most pro-potential of anyone on the team this year. And I think they hav another kid that had to sit out this year as well.

They won't drop that much. Now if they got those guys legally is another discussion

EDIT: I Can't believe I have Baylor at #1 but didn't want to be a huge homer and put us. If Miller declares that'll change things. Doesn't Drew alternate between big winning years and disappointing years? If he follows that trend, pencil Baylor in around 6.
I'm sticking with Kansas at #1 until we knock them off.

Paylor (mean Baylor) has a great recruit class coming in. Highlighted by a massive 7'0 who apparently can pass and score like a freak around the rim Isaiah Austin - Yahoo! Sports
With Kanas always being good even in the down years I see the league finishing like this:
1.Kanas
2.Texas
3.Baylor
4.ISU
5.WV
6.OSU
7.KSU
8.Tech
9.OKlahoma
10.TCU
Could pretty much flip around any of the bottom 3 IMO, and KSU could finish as high as fifth if Martin stays, if not that program could move to the trenches in a hurry. And can I say I would love to have Martin help Hoiberg out for a year, before finding another good program to go too?

2. Baylor
3. Iowa St
4. Texas
5. Okla St

7. Kansas St
8. Oklahoma
9. TCU
10. Tx Tech
Never betting against Kansas until they actually lose it.

3) Iowa State
4) Texas
5) Oklahoma State
6) Kansas State
7) West Virginia
8) Oklahoma
9) TCU
10) Texas Tech
The Big 12 may be lacking in "great" teams next year, but I think it will have a lot of "good" teams in the middle. I could really see 2-7 end up in any order, but I'd tend to put Baylor and ISU towards the top more often than not. Baylor is what it is. They should have the talent to compete for a championship, but they still have to put it together (and Drew has to coach...). Even without Royce, ISU has a solid team returning. And that team could get even better when we add somebody else for next year.
Texas could finish higher, depending on what goes on with their guys jumping to the NBA, but they might end up about the same as this season. Hard to predict. Oklahoma State should have the talent to be a top half team, but they still have to put it together. I could see them being kind of like we were this year. Early struggles, but get things rolling in conference play. Regardless, they should be fun to watch again. K-State could fall below OU if Frank were to leave, but if he's back they should be solid again. I don't know that I could see them finishing second, but top five is certainly possible. Again, hard to predict.
I don't know a whole lot about WVU, but I know they're losing some important pieces to a team that wasn't even very good this year. I believe they have a lot of young talent though, so if they can grow as players and have good chemistry, they could finish towards the top. OU won't be an easy game, but there are so many solid teams in the conference that I just don't think they'll be able to break into the top part of the league yet. I don't expect much out of Tech and TCU, but I think they'll both be better than Tech was this year.
KU deserves to be picked at the top again. This is their league until somebody else steps up and proves otherwise. Even if nobody does knock them off, it'll be a fun race for the 2/3/4 spots. I think we should get 6 or 7 teams into the tournament next season.

Grades?

Re: Big 12 Next Season
I don't think Texas will be as good.
Looks like J'Covan Brown and Myck Kabongo are leaving. Source: J'Covan Brown to enter NBA Draft | The Daily Texan
"Brown will enter the NBA Draft in June, according to a source close to the situation." Myck Kabongo entering the draft? | canada.com
"According to Aran Smith of NBAdraft.net and Chad Ford of ESPN, Texas point guard Myck Kabongo is strongly leaning towards entering the 2012 NBA draft. This comes after his 0-of-6 performance against Cincinnati in the opening round of the NCAA tournament."
I think two teams that could cause damage in the league next year are Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.

Re: Big 12 Next Season
I think Baylor is bringing in two McD. AA's. How they are doing this, I don't know, but they will have a ton of talent again next year.
