Re: Big 12 Next Season
KU will reload. They have good recruiting class (Ellis) coming in plus two players that sat out this year will contribute big minutes. If Withey comes back, they will be on top 3 of Big12 like usual. Losing Taylor will be big, but I expect Johnson/Tharpe to step up.
Baylor is reloading with Isaiah Austin, but loss of PJ3 and Acy will be huge. Not sure Austin can make up Acy/PJ3.
WVU is always WVU. Huggy Bear will figure out ways to put together a solid team. Can't picture them hanging out in bottom of Big12.
I think KU, Baylor, WVU, and Iowa State has a chance to be on top half of Big12.
Oklahoma, Okie St, and Texas in middle of the pack, then Tech and TCU at the bottom.
K-State is a wild card, don't know until if Martin stays or not. They are going to have major turn around if he doesn't. I am sure players will transfer if Martin leaves (can't picture Angel Rodriguez and Spradling without Martin). Martin factor is HUGE for K-State.

Riccardo gathers will do a good job of replacing acy's production, the kid is a beast.

Re: Big 12 Next Season
from watching the NCAAs and looking at what the rest of the conference has, we need another big to replace Royce and Railey (need bigs in practice too) to compete at a high level. Everyone says the college game is a guards game, but bigs sure are having a big impact in the tournament. We need help there, especially for defense.

Definitely agree. And if you look at the incoming recruits for teams that will finish around or above us they all have big 6-10"-7" guys coming in.

Re: Big 12 Next Season
1. Kansas-Losing Thomas Robinson and Tyshawn Taylor will hurt a little bit, but assuming they return Withey and everyone else and that recruiting class coming in, I'm not betting against Kansas to win the Big 12 again.
2. Baylor-They will likely lose PJ3, Quincy Miller, and Quincy Acy so that will sting. However they have a strong recruiting class coming in along with Jackson and Heslip so they should be fine.
3. Iowa State-We lose Royce, Chris Allen, and Scotty, but with Lucious and Clyburn coming in along with everyone else, another NCAA tourney appearance is likely.
4. K-State-This is assuming that Frank Martin is still the coach. They return most of their starters and will be a factor as long as there aren't too many problems with them.
5. Texas-They are a team of mystery. If J'Covan Brown returns, I might have to move them up a bit. But if he doesn't, they might be in the bottom half of the conference. So I'm putting them in the middle for now.
6. West Virginia-The Mountaineers lose half their scoring in Kevin Jones and Truck Bryant so they are hoping that their younger players step it up next year.
7. Oklahoma State-They will be better than this year assuming everyone that's supposed to return returns. The Cowboys could be this year's Iowa State depending on if they can show it or not. Le'Bryan Nash is a potential Big 12 player of the year candidate this year if he can show it on the court.
8. Oklahoma-They could surprise as well with every starter returning from last year's team. I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the top half of the league.
9. Texas Tech-They will continue to improve, but I still see a near bottom of the conference finish for the Red Raiders.
10. TCU-They could be better than Texas Tech, but that's about it. They lose their top two scorers, but they do return some decent players. However it will be a tough transition process from the Mountain West Conference to the Big 12.
