I know that at least 5 guys had parking tickets. I'm 99% sure that Fred knew about it.

nix is a beast, we would be lucky to have him on the basketball court. I am not sure how any of us can say anything intelligent about him off the court. We have no idea what he did, how many times. I trust Fred, if he wants him, and Nix wants to come here, then I would welcome him here with open arms.

I'm pretty sure he was a 5 star recruit too. Still don't want him he has way too much baggage

Re: Derrick Nix may be available

As I don't know him personally I couldn't possibly speculate on his character. Last time we got a transfer that I thought was a troublemaker and not worth the risk he went one and done and led our team in almost all statistical categories with absolutely no off the court trouble, and he actually became an ambassador of truth and awareness for a very commonly undiagnosed disease. I love to speculate, but there is only so much you can read into a person or how that person will change as time goes by. If Fred thought he could help turn the kid around, I'd be open to letting him try.
"He is the toughest I have ever been around, physically and mentally," Burnham said. "You can beat him down but you’re not going to beat him out. He’s got the mindset of, ‘If you’re going to get me out of this game, you’re going to have to kill me.’ That’s about where he is."

I am pretty sure Fred will continue to take guys who he thinks will make the biggest impact in any single year. It is just another form of one and done. As long as we keep getting better I am all for being "Transfer U". There are much worse things to be known as.

I could have written this entire email. I trust Fred on this.

I agree. Fred wants to win. He will take players and people who will advance that agenda. He also knows that great players who are a cancer stand in the way of winning. He will continue to be very careful which transfers he invites, but he will still use "free agency" to a limited extent. Hopefully it will be necessary less and less as time goes by.

Re: Derrick Nix may be available

If Fred decides to give him a 2nd chance, I'm completely fine with it.

Izzo is going to steer Fred in the right direction on these issues. Izzo's hands are tied, but that doesn't mean that he wouldn't support Nix getting a second chance, at a program that he knows will keep a close watch on him.

Having a strong front court with Percy, Nix, Ejim and Niang to help blunt the youth that we'll have in 2013, would be pretty nice.
